The debate was an anti-climax.
The whole country has already seen the true Palin in the unscripted interviews with Gibson and Couric. Everyone knows she went to "debate camp" for a week of intensive tutoring sessions, which enabled her to give a performance that at least didn't embarrass her, so this scripted performance didn't prove anything. Someone on Keith's show last week mentioned it was like a student cramming just to pass a test. They might pass the test, but by the next week probably wouldn't remember much.
