Technical People Please answer this question about wireless earphones
We all know that they have changed the stage that Bush is going to speak from tonight. The other stage had a backdrop which might have blocked a signal to Bush's ear piece from Rove.

What is the technical difference in an open stage as opposed to one with a backdrop?

1. that won't effect the AFB (the little earpiece)
he'll hear all the many crew people who share that feed--the TV director, mainly, telling the tech director which camera to switch to. Or the floor manager ("watch out for that streaking hippie!")

Anybody else who is crew or production inside the shoot can talk to him too. Rove could if he wanted to, although the crew usually don't like civilians messing with their equipment.
