Republicans Give Same Old Whine in a New Bottle
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 04:37 AM by chicagoexpat
What's astounding is that some plan to link arms w/ them and Rush Limbaugh & foolishly follow them off the cliff (to mix metaphors)

Republicans I've talked to describe it as: "Now we not only own the financial crisis, we own the failure to pass a bill on it."
-- John Harwood on CNBC

House Republicans led the way and will get most of the blame. It has been interesting to watch them on their single-minded mission to destroy the Republican Party...
With this vote, they’ve taken responsibility for this economy, and they will be held accountable.

-- New York Times conservative columnist David Brooks

As much as they seek to avoid responsibility, Republicans will find that elections are the best time and place to hold them accountable.

Republicans aren't just wrong, they're incapable of learning from their mistakes. They forget the reaction in 1995 when, in a fit of pique, they shut down the US government over some minor budget issue with Clinton

And we forget how they tried to do the exact same thing in July on the housing bill.

1. It is in their brain mechanics...
and their self-righteousness that makes them think that they never do wrong and are incapable of doing wrong and will be the last ones to admit any mistake or failure.

Which they always try to pin their fuck ups onto others.
