a wild idea
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has offered to "debate" Obama and McCain.

Would it help us if Obama spoke with President Ahmadinejad--showing

1--we are not afraid of the big bad Iran boogie man

2 Obama really will be able to use diplomacy unlike bomb-bomb

3-a message to the world that we are entering a new era

2. Obama just issued a statement condemning Ahmadinejad's UN remarks.

Meeting with him now would be strange.

4. It's a bad idea. Foreign leaders, particularly smarmy foreigner leaders, don't vet our candidates
It's tailor made for false posing instead of real diplomacy. Plus Obama would be against it.

Plus just about anything Ahmadinejad suggests is de facto a bad idea.

5. I am not a fan of
Ahmadinejad, but imagine how it would look--you guys don't have the guts to sit down and talk with this world leader--but I have the grapes to go man to man with him. It is (admittedly) a wild idea--but it could pay off...
