McCain & the MSM. Their new relationship. Are they competitors?
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 12:56 PM by applegrove
The Economist Magazine did an article years ago where they noted the change in how MBAs were taught in the early 1990s. Your company was no longer competitive with just their competitors but also with customers (marketing & pricing & getting customers addicted to shopping), workers (undoing unions and benefits), stockholders (ceo bonus pay) and government (undoing regulations and doing away with government that regulates). These were all competitors who had to be squeezed to get every drop of profit out of them.

Now the GOP goes after the media to (cow them during this election cycle from reporting the truth). They already go after voters (with big false narratives and wedge issues and push polls) to get every vote. They attack election laws & regulations (with vote caging and all those other tricks). In fact the GOP takes on all comers as "competitors" as the election rolls on. What other areas is the GOP attacking like it is a competitor? What other sphere is the GOP squeezing the life out of and distorting to win win win?

(I posted this late last night but am posting it again to get more viewers).

1. everything they can lay their greedy little hands on.
on the other hand, jonathan alter on KO last night pointed out that the media hasn't even really mentioned the keating 5. my question to him is, "why haven't you?" I do, every single chance I get-- my latest is "regulatory flip-flopper keating5 mccain"

2. If it was really "bad," McCain would be losing by 15% in every poll.

3. By bad I mean McCain is putting the screws to the MSM to try and cow
them. It worked in the 2004 election. It worked in the run up to war. It isn't working this time because some in the MSM are pushing back.

4. McCain doesn't have to "put the screws" to the M$M, their bloated Billionaire Owners, want him IN.

5. Well...
I agree that the MSM's behavior lately has been an improvement over the last 8 years or so. Although that is encouraging, it is also setting the bar very very low. As for whether it's working this time, the fat lady hasn't sung yet. The fact that McCain is statistically tied with Obama tells me it's still working too well.
