Obama is Set To Make The Demcratic Party the Majority For the Next 40 Years
The last time a financial crisis of this proportion hit was in 1929. This lead to Franklin Delano Roosevelt being elected, the New Deal, and 40 years of Democratic Majorities in the House of Representatives.

Barack Obama is set to put the Democrats ina similar position when he takes over this crisis.

We are on the cusp of a truly altered United States of America one way or the other. Either we will become the most oppressive regime in human history if McCain wins, or we become that shining beacon to the world that is the American ideal.

4. Yes, Reaganism is in its final death throes
After 30 years of Conservative ideology dominating American politics, the Bush years are the fulfillment of Reaganism. "Government is the problem" mentality no longer sells well when Big Business proves FDR right. FDR knew that his economic peers were crooks or sociopaths who had little regard for ordinary Americans and our democracy. That's why all those regulations of banking and business were done in the wake of the Great Depression. The current corruption on Wall Street and the economic woes we're experiencing are slapping Americans out of the Reagan illusion.

5. Hold your fire, soldier.
The Republican Party thought they would be in the majority for 30 years after the Contract on America--they didn't even make it halfway there.

We'll be in the majority for a few years, but the shift will inevitably happen--people get complacent, the Republicans charm them with that snake-oil salesman bullshit, and the country shifts back in their direction.

6. I would love to see the end of the republican right.
I just turned 61, and I would feel much better as a retired person living without the right wing hatred that has been grown by the Republicans.
They are a real threat, and the time is here to get rid of them.
