This is one of the states really needed for victory. Hopefully this lead can hold steady.

2. Why certainly -- we'd be pleased to turn New Mexico from Bush red to
Obama blue.

Way to go, New Mexicans. The bluer the better.

5. Voters older than McCain? That can't be a large demographic block.

8. Polls indicate that we have an excellent shot at turning NM and Iowa from red (04) to blue
We have polls showing double digit leads in both states by different pollsters.

9. Hold 2004 states (252 votes) + Iowa + NM = 264 EVs
I have not seen enough consistent polling data to believe that the 2004 states are in real jeopardy.

This means that all we need is to pick off ONE of these competitive states: Colorado, Virginia, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Indiana.

(I know that 2004 + IA + NM + NV = 269, but the only way the House might not give it to Obama is if he lost the popular vote.)

We are in a strong position this time. I believe McSame has peaked, and his bounce did not reflect all that much in battleground state polling. We can do this.

And on Election Night if Virginia gets called for Obama, I'm popping the cork, because it'll be won.

12. Virginia is going for Obama
For the first time in long time we'll have two Democratic Senators from Virginia and it's turning Blue. You can count on that. New polls show Virginia in Obama's camp.

11. If "less affluent" holds, we win - there's a lot more of them (us).
