Mccain and Obama haven't registered in Texas ?
I just found TPM that they have both not registered the ballot in Texas. According to Texas election law apparently they were meant to have registered both the presidential and vice presidential candidates 70 days before the ballot. Now I understand that that would have been impossible for the Mccain camp because convention hadn't even been completed by then. But this is up on Bob barr's website.

Wouldn't that be funny if the law is upheld. Mccain would have no chance of getting 270 electoral votes.

4. Damn... your photo of George reminds me of how much I miss him - and my
brother... they both died that fall of lung cancer, dammit. My brother was 56 and George was 58, I believe.

2. Wrong and wrong
they were registered long before the deadline.

Barr's flimsy argument is that it doesn't count because they hadn't been nominted yet.

Good luck with that.

5. Both the McCain and Obama campaigns filed the appropriate documents timely.
They will be supplemented later.

This is a non-story and a way to get Barr's name in the paper, since he and his party are insignificant.

6. The law will be examined as to purpose in the Texas Supreme Court
The purpose ill be to have the ballots properly prepared before the election.

The purpose will be met due to waiting for both candidates from the national parties to officialy nominate.

Thus, the law will be held as null and void for the purpose of the 2008 election.
