5. He's on FIRE.
Mentioned tax cuts McCain voted for to give to Exxon Mobile. Exxon admitted to Biden not "needing" the $2M in taxpayer money.

7. Ugh, did anyone hear the MSNBC bobble heads
nattering on about how Palin's message connects with the voters because of her background, but Biden's doesn't because he was wearing French cuffs? Our economy is in shambles and they are discussing fashion. What's up with these people?

8. but they were so obviously silly that it is just going to make people upset
including independents.

Biden just made the point that George Bush was a small business outsider that was going to bring in a new spirit in Washington

and then the idiot says that Palin is a small business outsider that was going to bring in a new spirit in Washington.

13. What I heard vs. what the talking heads saw...
Palin: She spewed a few platitudes about mavericks/reform/shaking up Washington. Nothing of substance. Talked a little about Colorado sports figures who were from Alaska. Talked about her family a little, and then launched into the same "Bridge to Nowhere" and other assorted lies that make up the one speech she seems to have.

Biden: Talked about the economy as it relates to the Detroit metro, and how the same hardships are affecting his state. Talked about how the economy needs fundamental reform, and how John McCain can't fix the problem since he doesn't seem to think there is one. Established, based on McCain's record, how McCain's policies are likely to be more of the same.

What the talking heads saw...

Palin was folksy and related to the people here, talking about her family, and really showed us how they could make changes in DC.

Biden really should have taken off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves if he wanted to relate to these people. How dare he talk about the struggling economy wearing that nice suit!

WTF? I mean, I recognize my own bias, but I like to think that I'm at least paying attention to the real world. Who the hell gave these idiots a microphone? I wish I could stop watching, but I guess I just thrive on the righteous indignation that this drivel gives me...

17. I loved how Joe related what was happening in his state to Michigan
We have 2 major automotive plants that have been shut down to nothing and that cost us thousands of jobs here in Delaware. So Joe has heard the cries from the autoworkers here at home and I thought it helped relate him better to the Michigan crowd.

Delaware Trivia fact - Bob Marley use to work at that Crysler plant back in Newark.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Marley#Musical_career
In 1966, Marley married Rita Anderson, and moved near his mother's residence in Wilmington, Delaware in the United States for a short time, during which he worked as a DuPont lab assistant and on the assembly line at a Chrysler plant, under the alias Donald Marley.<11> Upon returning to Jamaica, Marley became a member of the Rastafari movement, and started to wear his trademark dreadlocks (see the religion section for more on Marley's religious views).
