So she's standing giving her pitch, lying, and the couple behind her are contradicting her and she just keeps lying. It's very apropos to our current election cycle, no?

2. I would love to see a mock ad with McShame/imPalin in the bkg
With Obama in the front but with him telling lies about them and them refuting it. It could be funny and if we've learned anything from Jon Stewart, mix some funny in with reality and you have people's attention.

4. I'm a Jetta driver
before that 2 Golfs and I'm really surprised and disappointed that VW doesn't have some sort of hybrid or green car of any kind.

6. Jetta diesel
Former Jetta and current GTI driver myself.

The Jetta diesel is out now. Supposedly gets around 50 mpg.

8. I drive a Passat diesel wagon.
I really need a minivan for my work and hobby.

I am disappointed they aren't offering the Routan in diesel.

5. oh she's lying allright, it's a Dodge Caravan
FWIW, I'm a big VW fan. Yes I realize this isn't always rational.

Anyway, this is a restyled Chrysler minivan, built by Chrysler for Volkswagen at their minivan plant. So the commercial says at least twice "German Engineered." But what that actually means is it was engineered by DaimlerChrysler during the period of time when it was a german company. VW probably had some input on the suspension tuning and certainly the badges. So perhaps that's what they mean...

They've used the term "german engineered" for their non-German built cars before (much of the US inventory comes from Mexico or Brazil rather than Germany). But these cars, such as the Golf and Jetta, were at least actually engineered in Germany and also built there for non-US markets.

7. That's beside the point, darn it! ;)
Yeah, I've had a couple of "mexican" engineered VWs.
