8. It's all flooding back now....
There was a verse that said that when a women has her period, she can't be in the presense of another human being. I remember that crazy Ruby Ridge movie. They actually had a shed out back where the wife stayed during her period...because she was UNCLEAN!

2. I think a few Biblical quotes would be appropriate
Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head -- it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.
I Cor 11:4-7

As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says.If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.
I Cor 14:33b-35

I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion. Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
I Tim 2:8-14

If she really holds to her church's doctrine that the Bible is the literal, inerrant Word of God, then why is it that she can't be bothered to actually obey the literal, inerrant Word of God?

4. She needs to be asked if the constitution or a religious textbook
is her highest authority.

Bush played fundamentalist but he really wasn't underneath. She, however, is. We do not want one of that sort next in line to our Presidency. She's a Taliban in a skirt.

7. They're quite open about the answer to that
One of our RW "friends" over at Peace Takes Courage attacked Ava with some comment along the lines of "typical liberal Christian, putting the constitution above the Bible". Why do they hate America?

10. One never has to put the bible over the Constitution
if you keep both in their proper place. Your belief should be between your brain and your behavior. That's not where it is with a lot though.

No one is forced to have an abortion. No one is forced to be in a homosexual relationship. No one is kept from worshiping in their home or church. Following our national laws in regards to your own behavior never interfers with one also truly following the laws of their faith.

11. Yes, the Bible says as such
I don't have the exact reference to hand, but I remember a passage about the fruits of the spirit being mercy, love, goodness etc. and adding "against such there is no law". But fundamentalist religion is based on fear rather than love. many of them genuinely believe that "liberals love abortion", for example. I've seen some seemingly intelligent conservative writers swallowing wholesale the ridiculous notion that the real reason we don't like Sarah Palin is that she didn't abort her Down Syndrome baby. Because there could be no other possible reason for not wanting a lying, machiavellian politician who places loyalty above competence in the WH after 8 years of Bush/Cheney.

5. Wow...I forgot all that.
Send that over to freeperville to remind the tough guys who's boss.

I imagine that their cheerleading for Palin will die down a bit when their wives show signs of being effected by Palin and feeling a little better about themselves. Their sexism may over-shadow their racism, since race can be kept at a distance but sex...that's right at home.
