Wipe Out!

09.10.08 -- 7:20PM By Josh Marshall

McCain crashes and burns in first post post-convention rally without Palin at his side.

On edit, they have to hide Palin for obvious reasons, and McCain is simply awful.

1. Why did he select Palin in the first place?
To distract voters and the media from the gaping holes in his credibility, honesty, and brains. Selecting Louis Farrakhan, Charles Manson, or Bo Derek would have had about the same effect.

AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! The question has always been, For how long? I'm far from sure, but it appears that the shiny tin plate is wearing off Ms. Palin's grinning visage and McCain's grim clenched teeth are coming to the fore again. The adoring media are growing cranky. Could be that this dog's done all the hunting we'll see this election cycle. If so, you can be sure the campaign has something just as gaudy in the bag. War with Russia, maybe.

And who thinks that Biden's "Hillary might have been a better candidate" is an actual gaffe? Not me. As far as I'm concerned, that line means that the Dems are rich with highly qualified leaders while the 'Licans had to scrape the bottom of the barrel and only came up with a fingerful of splinters.

2. Sarah Palin is just John McCain's spokesperson
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 08:10 PM by Boz
Sarah Palin wasn't chosen as a VP candidate, she was chosen as a spokesperson to speak for John McCain as the rigs of the campaign have have accelerated the symptoms and his ability to cognitively read the teleprompters has failed.

A "regular" VP choice would have been questioned why they were speaking at every engagement rather than John McCain who now only repeats 5 or 6 set lines after her speeches to say "isn't she great" and change is coming.
