What a F'n nightmare would that be, could you imagine? And it's sadly a definite possibility!

7. Yup, definitely Cheneyed
since each state delegation gets one vote only (not proportional to number of electoral votes). This means that Wy and Ca have the same weight in the house vote. We would be toast, so lets work our asses off so that it does not happen.

The short answer? It wouldn't even be close. If every Representative in the House voted along party lines, Bush would get 30 ballots and Kerry would take home only 15. Four states would have tied delegations, and one, Vermont, has a Representative who is not a member of either party, so for sake of fairness I put that one in the "abstain" column.

2. My biggest fear
is a tie where Kerry gets a significant majority. A possibility if you factor in the blowouts in IL, NY, CA, MI, MA, NJ, and PA. A 53/47 popular vote with a 269/269 tie would kill me.

16. if it was 53/47 for kerry and it went to the house with bush winning?
civil disobedience and violence unlike anything since the civil war. i think a lot of people would get killed, many of them politicans.

9. I believe in article V of the Constitution...
it states and I quote:

"In case of a statistical tie in the electoral college, the winner of presidential election shall be determined in a jello wrestling match between Vice Presidential candidates"

So things might get interesting...especially Cheney in a speedo covered in jello...get the Lysol so you can clean your memories of that visual

Sorry just needed to blow off a little steam after watching the RNC whorefest...but seriously, if the election goes to the house we are all screwed

13. I think if there is no clear winner after 2 three minute rounds...
they start doing jello shooters and the first one to hit the ground loses.

22. If the election is to be decided by a chugging contest, and
Jenna, Barbara and Dubya are involved, bye bye Kerry.

14. The possibility of a tie in the Electoral College is small.
At present there are three states considered to be tossups: Ohio, Florida, and (would you believe it?) Colorado. You will note that on the map projecting a tie, all three of these are given to Bush. Assuming that Kerry keeps the blue states, he only needs to take one of these three to win a majority. Actually I expect that he will do much better than this, and could take all three of these states.

19. Anybody know what kind of a vote it would take in the House?
Is it a simple majority, or 60%? I wouldn't have ever dreamed that 2000 election could have happened either! I wonder if there would be just a few Pubs who wouldn't want to have to face thier constituents if they voted for another stolen election.

21. You must have 26 state delegations vote for you IIRC
and the Senate would pick VP by majority vote.

20. Four years ago everyone thought it was a ridiculous, remote possibility
That the guy with less votes would become president.

Now it's considered bad manners even to mention the fact that Gore got half a million more votes (not even counting the ones that he was bilked out of) than Shrubhead.
