2. For others, I believe this poster is wrong and can't take the truth. Poor thing.
The Dems scheduled their convention late to try to prevent the Thugs from going later, but the Thugs elected to go later anyhow, even though it would be Labor Day weekend.

3. I think you are wrong,
as for your other points, you are using the RW frame for them all, you shouldn't be surprised at you poll results.

7. No I'm not surprised, that's why I put in that option
But, rooting for Obama, IMHO, is not the same as praising a campaign that has screwed up badly. There is no way Obama should be behind with an economy that's a wreck and a foreign policy that's no better.

And I did read that the Dems did try to go second by scheduling their convention as late as they did.

10. You're wrong - the incumbent party always goes last. The Dems
scheduled their convention late because they assumed the nominee would take public financing and they didn't want the nominee to have to stretch his public campaign funds for a month longer than the Republican (the public financing clock starts the moment the candidate accepts the nomination). In the past, the Democrats didn't mind going an entire month earlier because frankly the nominee needed the public campaign funds as soon as possible.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._presidential_nominating_convention#Calendar

Since 1936, the party holding the White House has convened first. Since 1952, all major party conventions have been held in the months of July, August or (for the first time in 2004), early September. In recent years, conventions have mostly been scheduled about one month apart, (often with the Summer Olympics between), each with four days of business scheduled, although the 2008 Democratic and Republican conventions are being held in back-to-back weeks. One reason for the late conventions has to do with campaign finance laws, which allow the candidates to spend an unlimited amount of money before the convention, but forbid fundraising after the election, in order for the parties to receive federal campaign funds.<1>

stupidest move so far? Well, if he reads this board and pays attention to posts like yours then I'd say that would be the stupidest move so far.

12. the response to Palin's speech
I'm talking the short paragraph response that the campaign spokesman put out immediately after the speech. It's a stale response that didn't thrill me and actually turned off my always dem leaning mother.

The response had absolutely nothing to do with the speech and as such, made mom wonder if Obama's campaign was seeing things like she does.

17. To be fair, they did not pick the timing of the convention
That was scheduled long before Obama became the nominee. But we definitely need to hold ours second next time.

20. I like Biden.
But choosing HRC would have avoided Palinmania altogether. It pretty much would be impossible for such a ticket to lose.

60. We'd be watching the greatest hits of HRC against Barack over and over again
They probably would have played them at the RNC.

"Too bad she elevated McCain over Barack as C-in-C. That ended any chance of her on the ticket right then and there. He had to go in another direction; move on."
