Governor Palin's crazy church has a new website.

From the site...

What We Believe...

16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God
These are nonnegotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. This list is derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truths.

WE BELIEVE...The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

WE BELIEVE...There is only One True God revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

WE BELIEVE...In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son Jesus was both human and divine.

WE BELIEVE...though originally good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

WE BELIEVE...Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through Salvation (accepting Christ's offer of forgiveness for sin). <1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G>

WE BELIEVE...and practice two ordinances (1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

WE BELIEVE...the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. <1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G>

WE BELIEVE... The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is Speaking in Tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

WE BELIEVE...Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

WE BELIEVE...The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE...A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers the Church.

WE BELIEVE...Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). <1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G>

WE BELIEVE...in The Blessed Hope. When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. <1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G>

WE BELIEVE...in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. At that time many in the nation of Israel will recognize and accept Him as the Messiah, the Savior who died for them and all mankind.

WE BELIEVE...A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

WE BELIEVE...and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

1. Yup.
Holy rollers. Known derisively as the Ass of God.

:rofl:

I was raised around sensible, college-educated Presbyterians. Even got an excellent liberal arts education at a Presbyterian college. I can't deal with this fundamentalist crap.

3. There's nothing unusual there for an A/G church.
What's far more interesting is their statement ABOUT Sarah Palin:

Governor Sarah Palin did attend Wasilla Assembly of God since the time she was a teen ager. She and her family were a part of the church up until 2002. Since that time she has maintained a friendship with Wasilla Assembly of God and has attended various conferences and special meetings here. This June, the Governor spoke at the graduation service of our School of Ministry, Master’s Commission Wasilla Alaska.

We have had some inquires into Governor Palin’s beliefs. We do know that Gov Palin is a woman of integrity. She is a servant of the people, she is a strong leader. As for her personal beliefs, Governor Palin is well able to speak for herself on those issues.

As Alaskans we are excited about our Governor being selected as the nominee for Vice President. As residents of Wasilla, we are ecstatic about one of our own being thrust to the national forefront. However, as a church, it is not appropriate for us to endorse any one candidate over another. As believers, we are reminded in 1 Peter 2.13 that we are to submit to those in authority. 1 Timothy 2.1-2 tells us pray for those in authority. This we will do no matter who is elected. We wish the best to Governor Palin, and Senator McCain, as well as to Senator Obama and Senator Biden.

May God continue to bless America.

Where has she been since 2002??

5. They've scrubbed the library of church videos. Pretty quick work.....

How nice and how very telling-- they've inserted a statement about Sarah Palin right and removed a listing of recorded church sermons.

You can find on the 2002 version of the church web page and the offering of sermons by title here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20021010024026/wasillaag.org/resources.htm

(They started scripting and then denied access to internet archive bots in June, 2003, preventing us from getting a more timely view of their sermons.)

Here's the new statement about Palin that replaces all those recordings of ranting evangelists we'd rather see:

9. Very nice, but it's not the "Best of" video I was talking about...

There are a lot of videos at that link you provided, but they're not the official church videos that I referenced...

Hopefully, someone is going through those now. They have such catchy titles:

* Blockades on the Road to Hell

* How to Know God's Will

* Avoiding Steps to Bondange (sic)

* God's Word for Alaska

* Freedom in Obedience

* The Need To Have a Mind of War

* Taking Wasilla for Jesus

* You Can Rule in the Midst of Your Enemies

And, given the Alaska Independence Party connection, "Commiting myself to Alaska" and "Possessing Our Land" (parts 1-8) might be of some interest.

I also like the ones with pop music themes: "The Power of Love" and "The Man in the Mirror." Who knew Michael Jackson would be helping to spread the Divine Word?

8. Yup. It was reported that the McCain campaign
had sent a team to Alaska to "vet" Palin (after she had already been chosen). What that really means is that they sent a cleanup crew to find the skeletons, etc. and burry as much of it as possible. The kid's binge drinking myspace photos, Sarah's faith healing speaking in tongues church...

Everything must go!
