People need to chill
She gave a decent speech, one that was written for her after being sheltered and coached for days, to an audience desperate for something to counter Obama.

Obama is a proven entity, Palin is not. She has a long way to go yet. Even if both she and McCain do everything perfectly they can still lose.

And thank Rudy for going overboard, an inspirational video would have helped them tonight.

1. I don't think anyone here is worried. She's just a shrill, nasty bitch.

2. I'm convinced it was not effective
Palin was the key to putting a fresh face on the party, and she did not because of what you mention.

11. My husband is more inclined than anyone to like her, because he's
a former Repub/now Indie and is just always a sucker for a pretty face, but between her snide attitude and her flinty, grating voice she made him want to hit the mute button right away. Of course, he's voting Obama, but now he's pretty much satisfied his curiosity with her.

3. I didn't hear the speech, so I assume the speech talked about healthcare, medicare, social secuirty,
the people who have lost their houses, the economic downturn, jobs being offshored, etc

WOW, that must have been some speech

6. It'll depend on how the media reacts
So far it's praise for how she fired up the audience, and the word SARCASTIC is thrown about constantly.

I expect it'll energize the conservitives and Limbow listeners, and just seem nasty to everyone else.

12. ITA. "Nasty, mean spirited bitch" is not a good first impression if you want to win over people.

9. Darn right she has a long way to go...
...The speech was a hack job. The same old rhetoric that we have been listening to from them for the past thirty or so years. Her delivery of this tripe was masterful, and her captive audience ate it up. She needs to bone up on her facts, and the party needs to come up with some real plans to help WE THE PEOPLE, or there are eyeball deep in doo doo!
