The American Hypocrisy regarding War - Vietnam/Iraq vs WWII
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 07:44 PM by bleedingheart
After WWII many people in this country asked out loud how could those Germans have let their countrymen murder innocent people? How could those soldiers have let those atrocities be committed in front of their very eyes...!!!! Oh the Horror! Oh those nasty souless Germans!!!.... then ....Vietnam...

Vietnam was the war to help end the great evil...Communism... and our soldiers started to go to Vietnam...these young men were the CHILDREN of those WWII vets and their wives who had out loud contemplated the atrocities of WWII and how no one had the "guts" to stand up to Hitler and the bastards who murdered Jews, Slavs and many others..

...and guess what some atrocities were committed by our soldiers in Vietnam and some of these CHILDREN of the GREATEST GENERATION said...THIS IS WRONG! ...They said...My Dad and My Mom used to talk about this very thing....about how NO ONE opened their mouth in WWII and look at what happened because people behaved like lemmings.

...but alas...those who did speak out were condemned....

So now we see a repeat in Iraq of atrocities committed by our soldiers and once again...let's brush it under the rug... and it just disgusts me...BECAUSE we were supposed to LEARN FROM HISTORY.

Sorry but I was thinking about this today...will we ever learn?

1. I keep saying the same thing
Bush must be forced to answer whether or not people who question wars are traitors.

2. excellent how you put this together.
will we ever learn?

this is a wonderful opportunity for us to see. words like this will help, if only people will start saying it out loud for the tv

we have a chance to learn

and do we want to wait ten years of our men dieing in this battle, or will we stop it sooner

3. I didn't understand what was going on in Vietnam. I was a teen
to early twenties at the time. I did a lot of protesting becaue friends were going off to a war and no one knew why we were there. Still waiting for an answer.

I now understand Vietnam today because we are doing the same thing there. Thanks to the internet, I have learned a lot about what our country has done it the last 50 years. Actually if you add the American Indians, we've been doing this for over 200 years. But I knew about the American Indians.

Every chance I get I tell people. I would guess you know how hard it is to explain to people your own government is one of the biggest terorist group and murderer in the world.
