1. that is an apt description ?
It was a success because we marched into Baghdad like crap thru a goose. It was catastrophic because we had no idea the damage we had done or the catastrophy we were creating.

2. just beyond sad and beyond true at the same time. kind of like when
he just said, our enemies dont stop thinking of ways to harm our country and neither do we....

he continues to try to tell us the truth but i guess not everyone is listening to that real & true part of what he says

5. A man for whom language is a sworn enemy
At first I'd thought this was a statement of irony, but that's far beyond him, of course. Perhaps he just loves disasters, sort of like the ghoulish folks who pore over stories about massacres, ship sinkings and other mishaps.

He's just confused here, thinking "uh, 'catastrophe', big word, yeah; big thing happened, that's it."

This, of course is all quite unlike his presidency, which has been a thrilling and joyous failure.

This guy just has to go so we don't have to listen to the loudmouthed and tone-deaf dissonance all the time.

6. A Freudian Malapropism--Is this yet another new kind of verbal slip-up
for Prince Dubya? He makes his tongue-tied father sound eloquent by comparison!

Too bad the AP buried that phrase in the next-to-last paragraph

7. Bush has been a catastrophic success as a president
seriously. The man HAS been successful pushing his agenda: tax cuts for the wealthy, huge profits for his oil and weapon industry buddies, increased safety for his middle-east buddies, the Saudis...

Unfortunately, the rest of America is facing catastrophy.

Perfect description of the entire "presidency." He has gotten everything he wanted, controls all branches of the gov. and the press. Success indeed.

And unmitigated catastrophe for the US and the world.

I just can't figure out whether he said that on purpose (written out for him by a speech-writer) or whether it's a vintage Bushism.

8. Well he's half right.
And that's good enough for his supporters, unfortunately.

10. Remids me of Joseph Stalin...
...who, at the height of the purges in the 30s in Russia (which led to famine and the deaths of millions), said that their program had gotten "dizzy with success."

Same big lie technique, folks...

11. What language does he not speak?

He does not speak English. No way!

Yet,they say he "tells it like it is."

Sure, they must all need hearing aids.

"Bush now acknowledges that he miscalculated how fiercely insurgents would fight after the initial "catastrophic success" of U.S. troops. Perhaps he should have heeded the words of his father, who pushed Saddam out of Kuwait in 1991 but decided against pushing toward Baghdad to oust the Iraqi leader." LOL! I think he might have meant to say "categorical" success, but, as seems to be typical of freeper morans, the subtleties of the English language eluded him. He's SO amusing.

Even so, his entertainment value isn't sufficient to keep him around any longer.
