My prediction: Palin will fuck up. badly.
She's already doing it. It's a mistake for her to keep perpetrating the lie about the bridge. She does not have the experience as a campaigner to negotiate the next two months. There have already been numerous articles about her flip flop on the bridge. And there are other stories coming out. McCain will try and keep her from answering questions for as long as he can, but that's a losing battle. Even with the skewed MSM, Palin's in trouble.

1. I hope so, but I also hope she stays on the ticket until November
I sure would be pissed if she has to leave the campaign, and McDaddy puts another woman on the ticket, like Kay Bailey Hutchison:puke:

2. I watched her CNBC interview
and wowie. She certainly seems smart enough to be mayor of a small town
but she is in WAY over her head now. It's most disturbing that she didn't
have the good sense and grace to say "thanks but I'm just not qualified for the job".
It's going to be painful seeing Palin flounder like Vice ADmiral James Stockdale.

4. And not because she's stupid, but because . . .
She's wicked and unskilled at hiding it. She can't begin to play in the big leagues. Maybe she's thinking Palin-Bush (George P.) 2024.

5. Her past alone ...
what we know NOW more than enough for this pick to terminate McCain's candidacy, and if this were a D, it would have, undeniably.

The whole thing gets a pass this week, cause the media has in its mind a VERY strong excuse given it is the R convention. NOW, that they spend ALL last week trying its best to turn the D convention into a replay of 68 is of no concern - basic jounalistic "ethics" will dicate that they do NOTHING that would potentially damage the R caniddate during his convention - not to mention them have the bonus of being able to hammer BO for campaining during a major hurricane and annoint Johm McCain as Commander in Chiefly like for going down there and getting in the way.

Sorry, I remain skeptical.

McCain has had DOZENS of campaign ending gaffes to this point, this one being BY FAR the most glaring. His campaign should be O V E R right now, but they will continue to run 5 R hacks to 1 spineless D on during segments and the talking heads WILL do the "balance" thing - sure, she has no experience, but you have to admin she was very popular.

7. I'm fully expecting the beauty queen to get testy and defensive when questioned.
She's not the kind who will tolerate this kind of criticism for long. She'll fire off a zinger, and that will be the new headline.

8. I want someone to ask McCain the 3 top Reasons he Chose her
Like the way Obama was asked on 60 Mins. Obama gave and incrediable answer.

I read the transripts of McCain's interview with someone and he basically said
"change, that what americans want" LOL

I think would have asked a wet paper bag if it had been in the room at the time

18. And don't forget she's his "soulmate"...
How creepy is that? Has ANY politician ever said that about a colleague?
Has ANYONE ever said that about someone other than a person they are in love with?

So bizarre.

20. Creeped the socks off of me. I admit that when I first saw her and
heard that she was a former beauty queen, I wondered if she reminded him of his first wife. The one who was disfigured in a car accident while John was a POW. The one he ditched out on for Cindy.

27. Do serial adulterers have a tendency to get crushes quickly?
Serious question. Is there some chemical or wiring difference in their brains that causes them to keep falling in love with attractive new people as soon as they meet them?

9. Newbies always do
Looking back at Obama's early campaign, there were a lot of mistakes and missteps. Clinton, on the other hand, had few comparatively. Now the brilliant thing about Obama, and one of the main reasons I'm totally cool with him in the WH is his ability to adapt and learn on the job. He's wicked smart and now he campaigns like a seasoned veteran. Partly because he is, having been at this for a year now, and partly because he's that good.

Palin, on the other hand, is a newbie, and will make newbie mistakes. Regardless of whatever her ability to learn on the job, stay on message and be successfully handled by her masters, she has precious little time to improve.

Already Obama has more experience than Palin. And if you consider that Biden and McCain are relatively equal, the edge goes to us.

10. Then, what happens to McCain? If they've already canceled the convention
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 08:51 AM by mnhtnbb
do the power brokers in Repub party get together to create a nominee behind closed doors? Will
McCain step aside? Will he just try to replace her? Or will he continue to campaign and
watch himself lose the election?

12. big media is more interested in a horse race than anything else
and they're interested in juicy stories. big media knows damn well that their asses are covered no matter who becomes president. their interests are limited to themselves.

the desire of the media to build people up, and then utterly destroy them. Careers in journalism are, in fact, made on this.

14. No, Big Media is interested in a GOP victory
MSRNC stands to make billions if the neocons and fascists stay in power and continue funnelling my tax dollars, and those of my grandkids, into permanent war. The ratio of wingers to sane "pundits" on Big Media is roughly 15:1. If they were interested in a horse race it would be 1:1. If they were interested in ratings and salacious stories McCain's adultery and Palin's bizarre family life would be running 24/7. Big Media is run by the same fascists who control the GOP. They want a right-wing victory, not a horse race.

26. Actually, I think you are right.
They need a horse race based on bad polls and non-issues. Frankly, I think that when O and B blow McNuthin and Pallid out of the water, the punditocracy will have its next big theme - How did we get it so wrong.

The problem with the "horse race" nonsense is that it makes a Reich-wing theft of the election more likely in what is a legitimately close race.

Something that can be taken out of context to make him look like a sexist or whatever. Then they'll run that until the election.

21. Last night CNN had a headline on its website stating that "Biden says Palin is pretty"
...Trying to create a context that Biden was making a sexist remark. When in fact Biden was joking about McCain and himself being ugly old guys while Palin and Obama were young and good looking. CNN is fucking slanted that I cannot even go to their website anymore so I can avoid giving them bandwidth.

But if she gets challenged, like in a debate with Joe Biden - look for the press to pummel the mean ol' senator for pickin' on that purty li'l beauty queen from God's Country.

Bank on it.
