What are the chances that McShame would re-select his VP

at the convention?

Understandably, Palin is a very poor choice, but wouldn't replacing her now put McCain's campaign in a far worse position: showing that his judgment is flawed?

1. Won't happen
That would be instant suicide, especially after they have the fundies all whipped into a frenzy over one of their own being selected. Can you imagine the repuke reaction if he replaced Palin with let's say...Joementum?

4. She just seems like such a bad pick for Veep.

It just feels like they're up to something.

3. I've wondered if maybe this whole Palin thing is a trick
Just to get the base and media all excited. And then when the real media vetting begins -- and it will -- she'll be forced to step down and McCain can pick Pawlenty or Lieberman and say, "well, it wasn't me. It was that nasty press who forced her out of the race. The media are so hard on good people and no one wants to serve anymore." Or words to that effect.

7. I'm waiting to see them figure out a way to roll out Jeb Bush
I think that has been the long goal plan, but the problem has been how to do it.

9. She goes into the convention but is replaced by party demand.

Then that raises the question: "Why didn't McLame just choose him to begin with?"

"Why make himself play the part of the idiot?"

But I doubt it would happen because for one thing it will IMHO severely depress the PUMA/fundie vote, most of whom appear to be freshly (re-)energized and enthusiastic about the McSame/Palin candidacy despite all of the seemingly obviously flaws with Palin in particular that people like them are utterly incapable of realizing and/or appreciating.
Second, most Republicans (and certainly McSame), as we've painfully learned during the last 8 years, generally seem to be utterly incapable of admitting mistakes and McSame removing Palin would make him look "weak" and that he "caved in" to Democrats and the so-called "liberal media" (completely ignoring the valid criticisms of her by fellow Republicans, of course) . Doing so would also further validate concerns about his judgment(which is already being perceived as somewhat shaky) in regards to picking Palin in the first place.
Third, the election is only a short +/- 2 months away and it may already be too late to contain/repair the political fallout, particularly among the PUMA/fundie voters, of such an event even if he were to pick a more "appropriate" candidate.
After seeing the negative reaction to her from a lot of different corners, including even the GOP side, I was actually starting to worry about the possibility of her dropping out or being forced off the ticket because I don't think that I've ever felt so good about our chances in November as I have since I heard about this VP pick. It essentially takes the "experience" issue, which was IMHO going to be the most difficult issue for Obama to overcome in November, off the table. Also, given Palin's previous "beauty queen" status and cover shoots for Vogue magazine, I think that also undercuts their "celebrity" criticism of Obama as well (as though it had any real credibility to begin with). It will also probably undercut the ability of the GOP to turn Obama's spurious "ties" to Ayers or Rezko into major political liabilities for Obama because unlike Obama, Palin is ACTUALLY being investigated for criminal corruption.

So, in conclusion, I believe that McSame has made his bed and will sleep in it through November (but hopefully for the sakes of their respective spouses not with Palin ;) ).

13. HE won't tie a Thomas Eagleton around his neck
The only way she's not on the ticket is if the party leaders force the issue.

If that happens, they have conceded defeat in the big prize and are in damage control mode to stop the bleeding in the House and especially in the Senate.
