RNC growing Ron Paul Convention problem
Unnoticed by the news media Ron Paul supporters have not stopped their efforts to get their voices heard.

One of the most amazing unreported stories is that the RNC has thrown out the Nevada delegation and as of today no delegation is authorized to represent Nevada (compare that to the uproar that the media made out of MI/FL)

RNC panel calls Nevada GOP 'inept'

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hcFVs8s4_5WST3fFqigXLUYV5zvQD92RGGC00

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A key Republican committee says it is troubled by the "ineptness" of the Nevada GOP and called the state party's attempt to choose delegates for next week's national convention "flawed, inadequate and unacceptable."

A ruling from the Republican National Committee panel said the state party violated rules when it appointed, rather than elected, its group of 34 delegates and 31 alternates, according to a report obtained by The Associated Press on Thursday.

The RNC Committee on Contests was asked to review the delegates by a group of supporters of Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who argued they were shut out of the delegate selection process. The Paul backers elected a separate delegation to the convention in St. Paul, Minn., which also was rejected by the RNC panel.

The committee recommended a compromise list of delegates, which needs approval of the RNC credentials committee. The compromise list included at least four backers of Paul, a former presidential candidate who inched out McCain for second place in Nevada's January Republican presidential caucuses.

Ron Paul supporters are organizing "Operation St Paul"

It also will include a rally of 10,000 who will pay 15.75 to attend the "Rally for the Republic"

the mission:

The event will run in conjunction with the first two days of the Republican National Convention and will feature top conservative speakers, musicians, and organizations. It will also have an organizational and training function for the Campaign for Liberty and the Freedom Movement.”

2. they are divided
thats what so ironic about all of this... the media tried to make us seem so divided wed never come together... but really its the republicans who need to worry..
so many republicans are feeling cheated or misrepresented by McCain and what he stands for...
should be interesting with Ron Paul folks around, Bob Barr people, and even ex romney supporters who wont get on board...

7. Grover Norquist?
Grover Norquist?

wasn't he one of the neo-con cheerleaders of this failed administration?

a lot of these iraq warmongers are jumping ship,
possibly to avoid war crimes charges,
or probably because cheney's kicked them off the war-profiteering teet.

10. Will Ron Paul lose the battle but win the war?
I've read several who suggest that Paul, like Goldwater in '64, has influenced much of the thinking of the younger Republicans. These are Gen Ys who are anti-tax, anti-government, and neo-isolationist. Socially, they are often moderates. There is a thought that the organization Ron Paul has built will be ready to pick up the pieces if this election goes south for the traditional party players.

16. Explains why they're hoping for a hurricane..
Gustave hitting the Gulf Coast gives the poor GOPers an excuse to just not have the convention at all. Can't imagine what they'll yap about for four days anyway..the booming economy?? Success in Iraq?? Ya like Hillary said, the twins in the twin cities. haaaaaaaaaaaaa
Gustave is the best they can hope for at this point. Yep they'll do the 'honorable' thing and cancell their lame convention of thugs & liars, their rePuke-fest, and, oh ya, it'll be out of 'respect' & concern for those that are devastated by the hurricane.
What a bunch of snakes.
McCain going to send Miss Cindy to the Gulf like her trip to Georgia??

Christ I f..ing despise the pretense of the entire GOP.

Doesn't mean the Repubs will actually DO anything for them, but they'll prey, er, pray.

I often post and then go back and add smilies to let people know I am not serious. And when my humor gets too dark or sick, I worry I will be flamed for it. So when you start your humor lessons, send me some cheat sheets.

24. I deeply respect the Paulites...
Their messiah is half-right, and half TOTALLY fucking wrong on some exceedingly important issues, but his acolytes are amazingly committed, and in my experience, honest and forthright lovers of the Constitution, as are we. Their economic policy is fucking insane, but on social issues, they're right there with us, LGBT issues notwithstanding in many cases. Oh, and Ron Paul is pro-life to the point of derangemnet, but his merry band of Paulites run the political gamut from what I've discerned.

In any case, I have nothing but support for Paulites who want their voices heard, and are willing to disrupt the RNC in order to attempt to do so. Lord knows that there are crazy leftists who agitate to the general detriment...

Remember, sometimes the old canard "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" holds true.

36. As someone who's supportive of the 3rd parties despite my Democratic affiliations
I think more power to the Ron Paul supporters. I feel sympathize for the people who feel marginalized in the elections-- many of them have to deal with scorn or contempt just for the way they feel. Also, people don't realize that third parties are good for bringing up ideas that should be debated for the sake of public interest as they are not as invested in a certain image-- in that way, they are probably more principled than either the Democratic and Republican parties. Although, as a Democrat, I hated how the Nader people basically ruined it for us in 2000, they were also part of the electorate that helped to elect Clinton.

It's also a bit hypocritical to say that we want to restore the Constitution and repeal the Patriot Act without respecting these people's right to free speech, no?

Although I have to admit that the Ron Paul people do not help their cause in enlisting Tucker Carlson as their MC. WTF Tucker? That little fucker's still around after being mastered by Jon Stewart for his disingenuous hackish ways?
