Here's a different perspective of the Biden Candidacy:
I had been thinking at about 2:15 this morning when I had awakened out of a sound sleep since the aether had been disturbed by this ripple in the Force, that Biden's life story trumps McCain's somewhat garbled P.O.W. tale. For the record, do recall that it was the RWers who pressed the 'fact' that McCain is a seditious traitor to America and the Cause...I had never read such vituperative attacks upon a Republican as I had when they were excoriating McCain.

Biden lost his young wife and very young daughter in an automobile accident as everyone knows, and for all his pontificating, does not do the Giuliani/McCain Subject-Verb-Car accident to explain away all his positions. He went thru a very bad grieving period, had a life-threatening illness, but remained loyal to his intellect, his political beliefs, and his State during this time. He has been remarried for years and there has not been one whiff of scandal in regard to his family.

On the other hand, McCain has NOT been loyal...to anyone or anything. He stepped out on his disabled wife who was disabled AFTER AN AUTOMOBILE CRASH. Interesting coincidence. Who's the better man?

"We report, you decide."

6. A necessary spotlight
on character as it shines on a Senate career we often admired and were puzzled or dismayed by. In stark relief it comes through that he is dedicated, decent and committed and a smarter legislator than we understand.

3. And He Still Gets Emotional
I saw an ABC video (on this site) from 2007, Biden still gets emotional talking about losing his first wife and daughter - even though it's over thirty years later.

When McShame talks about his first marriage dissolving he sounds off hand. Oh yeah, I messed up there.

4. McCain's a shallow sack of crap
like his mentor Bush II...

same undistinguished academic record, same ill-temper, same ugly persona, same shallow phoniness.
