BREAKING: Obama close to announcing running mate.
Some poll somewhere has predicted that Chicken Sandwich is now the front runner for the coveted position. Little-know Chicken Sandwich has been a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility an has apparently passed a rigorous background verification process by the Obama camp. Compared to all the others in the running, Chicken Sandwich has come out ahead. Sources close to this reporter indicated that Chicken Sandwich has flown to his Vale, Colorado compound to gather with family in anticipation of the news. Earlier today, Chicken Sandwich cleaned out his bank account with Colorado Trust, and ordered thousands of balloons for a catered extravaganza this evening, reporters said. Although no chicken will be served at the dinner to be attended by possibly hundreds, beef brisket was on the menu.

Man this place has become unglued...

1. If it doesn't happen today...
then I don't think it'll happen on the weekend.

Which means it'll happen at the convention.

Which means the text message will be cued to some event at the convention. A coordinated freakout when everybody's whatchamawhodjit goes off at once, followed by a massive cheer.

4. Ah, yes.
As a general rule, I don't believe anything the media's saying about Obama's VP.

Unless Obama actually said he'd be doing this, don't fall for it.

10. I believe that he's campaigning in Illinois.
Any credible evidence it'll be with his VP?

13. No, except that it will be
at the old Capitol building where everything started. For a campaign so conscious and so good at imagery and symbolism, to campaign at that particular spot on this particular day CANNOT be a coincidence. Not to mention that IL is not exactly a swing state :-).

Please join Barack Obama at an event in Springfield, IL, where he'll talk about his vision for bringing America together and creating the kind of change we can believe in.

11. Does this mean that Deli Tray is out of the running?
It had diversity and a broad appeal. Something for everyone to like on the Deli Tray. Oh well I guess all is lost.

If it's fried it's a deal-breaker for me!
