I was worried this was going to happen. I'm really not surprised at all though. It is sickening how much racist crap I hear from people in town. The local Democrat Club has refused to endorse Obama as well. During the primaries they had about 10 Hillary signs in their window and placed them all over town. Nothing for Obama. You would think this was 1960s Alabama, not 2008 New Jersey.

A couple of weeks ago, I took my car to a car wash here in Austin. The guy who wrote up the ticket prior to the wash followed me into the checkout counter to tell me he was glad to see my Obama sticker (it's been on my car since Feb 2007). He was a 50-ish white guy, obviously not working in a high-paying job. I've felt happy about that for a couple of weeks now.

18. In the future, here's what you do

Go to a sign company and have them cut up their magnetic sign material into the sizes you need for your bumper stickers and put the stickers on that, and the magnet on your car. When you're driving, even the most rabid right-wingers aren't going to ram you because of your sticker, but when you park, your car is a sitting target. With these, you can pop your trunk, take them off, and throw them in while you're running your errands.

As well as preventing your car from being easy prey for people who hold the opposite opinion, it has two advantages:
1. Doesn't hurt the resale value of your car.
2. If the guy you support does get elected in whatever race then murders someone/has an affair/turns into a republican, you don't have any evidence on your vehicle that you supported him. :)

Lawnside to be exact. I went to Paul VI high school and graduated in 1980, worked for the PO in Bellmawr then moved to Sicklerville for a few years.

12 years after that, we moved to N.C. with all it's good and bad points. We just couldn't take living in NJ anymore.
