Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 05:52 PM by flpoljunkie
This was said during a discussion on HARDBALL of the Clintons and their most recent comments. Both Karen Tumulty and Jonathan Alter said there were major problems--noting that Bill Clinton had not yet been given a speaking slot at the convention.

Frankly, I'd prefer to see Bill Clinton smiling and nodding from the audience while Hillary gives her speech on Tuesday night--or perhaps he could introduce his wife and then sit down. We will see what negotiations bring. Both Tumulty and Alter pooh poohed Obama's assertions that nothing was wrong, of course.

4. It's ridiculous! This is supposed to be about public service not a fucking
popularity contest for a bunch of children. I am losing more respect for Bill every day.

6. Nelson Mandela was in prison 27 years, and he has to tell Bill not to be bitter?
That tells you alot about the character of both.

Good on you, Nelson.

Damn, your selfishness, Bill.

13. Is there a clip of Mandela saying this?
If not, Alter should STFU. He was an Obama fan from the get go and used his column to trash the Clintons every chance he got.

20. Nelson Mandela - a true leader
No triangulating. No constant ME ME ME ME!

Bill badly needs to redeem himself, and the starting point is apologizing publicly for the terrible things he has done this year, and vowing to not do them again.
