I think McCain's "Celebrity" ad is playing a card all right... I think it's playing the Hitler card
Why would McCain want to portray Barack as being incredibly popular?

What does this ad show?

A politician speaking in Germany in front of a huge crowd thrusting out their right fists, waving flags, and chanting the leader's name.

Two little Aryan girls are shown.

Flashbulbs are popping. There's even a sepia tone in some images, and the final picture of Obama is almost in black and white.

The last words shown are "Foreign Oil." Foreign.

Compare this ad:

With this:

Having seen the video of Obama's actual speech, and the profound dissimilarity of Obama and Hitler in said speech, I think the comparison between Obama and Hitler in McCain's ad is more than coincidental. And that's the real card being played here.

1. Probably not a stretch; several writers have also made the comparison.

2. The chanting of "Obama! Obama!" sounds totally Nazi to me.
I thought of Hitler the first time I saw this pathetic ad. My God, Republicans are vile, nasty people, aren't they? Yuck. I can't stand them!

3. Not just Hitler, but a Black Hitler.
Funny, too, that mccain's campaign is the one ran entirely by the fascist media propaganda.

6. didn't Tucker Bounds say something like
"it's 'fascinating' watching the way people respond to Obama in foreign countries...particularly German people..." Lol, ok Tucker. Whatever could you be talking about.

8. Expect that to be the implicit spin after Denver, too.
Older voters in particular they figure will be susceptible to that.

9. Not to sound snide
but what percent of the American public was old enough during World War II to remember Hitler?

In 2000, 1.5 percent of the population was over 85. Yeah, that's the 1.5 percent who vote, but younger people (like, under age 60) I think would be more likely to compare him with Kennedy or nobody at all.

But this is all just me guessing.
