Found on another board. Email From the ubiquitous Army Capitan.
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

Isn't the hoops footage from AFRTS and not the pool? I can't seem to find that one. There's a youtube of him eating with the troops too.

This crap is SO KKKarl.

This Always Kills Me
providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

So tell me, how they are providing my freedom, while they are in Afghanistan, or Iraq for that matter?

Did Iraq or Afghanistan attack us?

3. The truth of the matter is that if Bush ordered an attack on Mexico
because they are invading us with illegal aliens our troops would have to do as they were ordered and go and fight. Just like the police they don't get to pick what orders they will obey or will refuse to obey. Then there would be a great number of Americans who would claim that our troops in Mexico were fighting for our freedom because freedom isn't free, you know? They believe this with all their hearts. and you could not tell them differently.

I this moment I have a 19 year old godson who got his first deployment just 2 weeks ago and it is to one of the toughest areas of Afghanistan on the Pakistan border (unlike Iraq, Afghanistan actually has a border with Pakistan). He and the troops with him are doing their best and obeying their orders, but I am under no illusion or delusion that they are providing my freedom. I don't think my godson swallows that line of crap either (to be honest, where he is at the Afghanis do not want us there at all).

4. Hey
I feel your pain

My nephew has been there for 6months now, and is coming home hopefully in Decembra 2008
101st Airborne, he repairs helicopters

We were all worried, as he was gone off base for a month, on a 'special mission'
he finally checked in this week, so we dont have to worry about that anymore.

:hi:

5. They sent my godson to the area where the 9 troops were killed a few weeks ago.
They were on the verge of going home. My godson's contract is up in a year from August, but he will be in Afghanistan until November unless Obama rotates him out of there. He signed his contract in blood, the Army signed in pencil.

2. Looks like typical reichwing drivel
How stupid. For the life of me, I cannot imagine Barack "shunning" or "dissing" anyone, especially not US Soldiers. I notice the Army Captain doesn't give his name. Pure trash.
