We need to stick the "negative" label on the Bush campaign
Within two weeks from today, there will be a major story about the voters being turned off by the "negativity". Put your fingers on the pulse of America. Can you hear their heartbeat?

Many people are sick of the negative attacks against John Kerry. It is my hunch that the Bush crowd will sense this development and will make an effort to go "positive" in the next few days.

The Party that can best sell the other as the "negative" Party will benefit politically from this short-term development. I would recommend that our Party start reminding the voters that we have tried to talk about the issues but Bush and the Republicans have resorted to their old habits. We still want to talk about the issues but we will defend ourselves.

We need to stick the "negative" label on the Bush campaign. It shouldn't be that difficult. Be a visionary. Can't you see it coming? Remember you read it first here on DU...

1. I was disheartened to see that ...
during a town hall meeting on CNN (believe me, there was NOTHING on CSPAN or MSNBC), the audience laughed and hooted when the Kerry representative said that Kerry wasn't doing negative advertising.

The majority of the public doesn't differentiate between campaign ads and 527s, it seems. The Kerry guy didn't do too well of a job differentiating himself.

I would have liked him to say something in the order of:

There have been many commercials aired about the flawed presidency of George Bush. These have been run by other organizations that were in existance before John Kerry got his first vote in the primary, and their goal has been to inform the public about George Bush and his record as president. They are not affiliated with the Kerry campaign, and in fact, Senator Kerry has condemned several of these ads that he considered inaccurate or unfair to his opponent.

Instead, the Kerry representative yelled something about, "You didn't hear John Kerry on the commercial saying he paid for the ad" or something like that.

2. I would suggest that the strategists for Kerry get on the stick....
There is a very good chance this is going to happen... The prize goes to those that act - not react.
