US Vets for Kerry in Vietnam
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040820/ap_on_el_pr/vietnam_vets_for_kerry

Calling President Bush (news - web sites) a draft dodger, the veterans in Hanoi donned T-shirts emblazoned with "Americans Overseas for Kerry" and showing Bush's face with a line crossed through it.

I love these guys!! :)

1. It is a great story - but will mainline media bury it - or will 6 o'clock
and Sunday talk mention it.

It may be time to email a few folks.

2. True -- It'd make a great news story if anybody would interview them
Send emails, and rate the story up, too!

3. The accompanying story brought a tear to my eye
Great post....Thank you.

I'd to see a TV interview with THESE guys:

The men had nothing good to say about Bush, who served stateside in the Texas Air National Guard during the war.

"The guy doesn't deserve to be called a veteran or a patriot or anything else," said John Lancaster, of Hamburg, N.Y., who lost the use of his legs after being shot near Hue in 1968.

5. "We had very serious disagreements among ourselves about the war..."
Edited on Fri Aug-20-04 01:56 PM by NewYorkerfromMass
"We had very serious disagreements among ourselves about the war, but the creed was that we never spoke ill of another veteran," said Chuck Searcy from Athens, Ga., who served in Vietnam from 1967-68 before joining the anti-war movement at home.

That's gold folks.

6. And true.
That's what makes my husband the most mad about the Swiftboat guys. No honorable military man would do what they are doing right now.

Same as that old e-mail about Marines not saluted Clinton. For a military man to not salute his Commander in Chief means he is in dereliction of duty. That e-mail was an insult to any Marine.
