5. Agreed. This is still playing defense...offense is going after Bush's

lost time in the Guard, his phony macho crap, his lies about everything.

Instead of losing ground, Kerry had the chance to use his momentum. In a couple of short weeks, they've botched it. As soon as this all started, they should have called those swift boat liars out. I see this as the primary important issue. We have had many threads here discussing the "smartness" of Kerry holding back. Sorry, when dealing with a megalomaniac, one does not play cautious and smart defense. When that megalomaniac has enormous wealth behind him, ergo enormous power, even though he is a willfully ignorant stupidhead, not going on offense is the wrong path to take, imo.

Sure the economy is important, sure jobs are important, these issues tend to drone on and on in speeches and we pay attention,while others see this as a boxing match between Bush the tough cowboy and Kerry, but no man who does not stand up to this bully is going to get the confidence of the people .

They will choose the bully, in spite of all they will need to sacrifice because they perceive the great father figure who will protect them in this bully type authority figure. They will perceive the bully as the leader most competant to protect them.
