They say they love her but...
They won't do what she's asking them to do.

They won't do what she has said she will do herself.

They won't do what she says is best for them.

They won't do what she says is best for the country...

They won't vote for Obama.

Some kind of love!

1. They're in mourning
I wouldn't read too much into it. They'll come around, most of them anyway.

3. It will take time
and patience. The majority of Clinton supporters understand where we are, and now support Obama. But for others, the contest remains Clinton vs Obama. In a little while, they will understand that it is Clinton and Obama vs McCain, McBush and McCheney.

4. The entire reason the Rs forced everyone but McCain out early was to foul the Dem process
Edited on Sun Jun-08-08 08:20 AM by TexasObserver
Operation Chaos was designed to have this end result. We have a group of Republicans who are posing as Hillary supporters, and will use that cover the next five months.

The GOP has TWO tried and true methods on working elections:

1. Cheating

They steal votes, hide ballots, hide machines, slow down voting at Dem boxes, and wrongly keep Dem voters from voting through a variety of schemes.

2. Dirty Tricks

They create phony organizations to pretend to be associated with people or groups from the Dem side, and pretend to have large numbers of such Dems backing Rs.

Cheating and Dirty Tricks are the main way Rs plan and work elections. They have known for a long time that they cannot win fairly.

6. Raven, there are also Obama supporters who have said here in the past
that they'd sit out the election if Clinton was the nominee. And some Obama supporters here have said that even with him as the nominee, he won't get their vote if Clinton is the VP.

There are Obama supporters who ignored what Obama said praising Clinton and asking his supporters to be nice to her supporters.

There are strong feelings on both sides, with some people motivated primarily by antipathy toward their favorite candidate's strongest rival.

And this was almost inevitable with a primary race this close.

I believe that most of the Clinton supporters who are saying now that they won't vote for Obama will decide to vote for him later. Just as I believe that most of the Obama supporters who were expressing such strong dislike of Clinton would have eventually voted for her if she'd been the nominee (and will vote for Obama if she's on the ticket as VP).

10. Doesn't everybody have a right to rethink a position? I have been
preaching about how much there is a stake in this election. I reserve the right to eat my own words on occaision...sometimes with a little hot sauce. I don't think this post was meant to push people to change their minds this instant...just to think about the nonsense of loving Clinton but not respecting her request.

11. That's exactly my point. She conceded yesterday and you are
complaining today that not everyone has hopped on board. Give it time. :-)
