Sibel Edmonds on CNN last night: Did Rove jerk their chain today HARD!
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 11:44 AM by DeepModem Mom
They apparently had passages from Bush's VFW speech on a split-screen as Kerry was speaking. An unrebutted Republican apparently followed the speech. Others know more. I've never heard of this kind of coverage before. Were there passages from Kerry speeches on a split-screen as Bush spoke? I don't know what to make of CNN. Yes, it's been bad since Turner sold it, but not this bad. At this point, I'm discouraged, and about ready to put it in the category with Fox. Just let the Bush cabal effing have Ted Turner's dream -- and hope that good people who tune in thinking they are watching a "trusted news source" figure out they are watching either a threatened and cowed news organization, or a news organization completely without scruples or responsibility -- or both.

6. Right now, in the funk I'm in, probably not -- I have, however, a Gen Y...
child, and when I think any situation is hopeless, she reminds me that her generation, larger even than Boomers in numbers, is going to, in some way or another, change everything. Early studies of that generation are very hopeful. I also keep in the back of my mind the book "The Emerging Democratic Majority," with its view that demographic trends in this country point to a different direction. I hope I live long enough to see the wheel turn, and crush these people who've stolen our country from us.

4. Call your cable or satellite operator

and say you want a package that does not include CNN. Yes, I know that no such package is available. But if they get a large enough number of such calls from unhappy customers, they just might take notice.

5. I find them taking full advantage of something else
I know that in many ways all these cable networks whore but it was actually getting not too bad on MSNBC. However, they during the day are now convering the Olympics, and thus, they wouldn't be covering the speech. I'm sure later when they return to news, they will do excerpts. But, I'm so upset today and over the last few days because that somewhat of a balance is not there. That kept CNN a bit more honest--but now they are just abosolutely flaming in their blatant whoring. I can't watch them---did so just because I wanted to see Kerry's speech. Oh, and unlike with Bush's, they did not advertise this until the last minute. I thought maybe no one was going to carry it. Sick bastards. They also tried to pre-empt Kerry's speech just as it started over breaking news from Iraq. But, I guess the little guy who was going to run the split-screen, said, "go ahead and let Kerry roll; I'll handle him". I hope whomever is doing this finds their kid on the front lines fighting one of Bush's wars someday.

8. Here's my e-mail
I kept it short and sour because I'm really too mad to write now, but I think we should all bombard them with something. Even a couple of lines is better than nothing.

Subj: CNN shows their pro Bush bias AGAIN!
CNN,
This morning, as John Kerry addressed a veterans' group, you split the screen and favored your viewers with talking points from the other side. You did not do this when Bush spoke to the same organization. I demand to know why you are treating Kerry differently than Bush. There is no justification for such blatant partisanship, so I'm sure none will be forthcoming. You are trying to elect your "tax cut" with such zeal that you have lost all reason. You are a joke.
Sincerely,
