"The two candidates emerged laughing from their hour-long meeting"
Clinton, Obama talks held without aides present
Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton met rival Barack Obama face-to-face with no one else present, hours before her campaign formally announced she would endorse him Saturday at an event in Washington.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Friday the two Democratic presidential candidates arrived separately at her home for their Thursday night meeting. Feinstein said she took them to her living room, where they sat "in two comfortable chairs facing one another" and then she left the room. No one else was present during the meeting and nothing was served except water. "There was a desire on both sides, I think, to have private meeting," Feinstein said.

The two candidates emerged laughing from their hour-long meeting.

The California senator had gone up stairs to do her own work when the meeting began at 9 p.m. EDT. "They called me when it was over," Feinstein said. "I came down and said, `Good night everybody, I hope you had a good meeting.' They were laughing, and that was it."

Hmm...now I wonder which of them thought to end the meeting with good humor, I wonder...

7. Comprehend much?
I didn't say a word about "smile first".

However, clearly one of them said something in good humor. At the end of their meeting.

Anything else is misinterpretation on your part.

Just because it amuses me. Of course, Obama MUST have been the one to come up with the idea of laughing. He's.... _______________ (fill in superlative).

20. Yeah, clearly he's hit the ground running with that decision
It's also AMAZING how he got Hillary to go along with it. I think he'll create peace in the middle east with that skill set!

22. Hahaha... Dianne Feinstein leaving her booze out for guests?
That would never happen. She was prolly upstairs sinking Tequila Anejos with her ear to a glass on the floor.

5. ROFL.....
Why didn't DiFi serve Crown Royal?

And why did the article feel the need to emphasize - ..."nothing was served except water."

13. "Mornin', Sam." "Mornin', Ralph."
Just like another poster explained, when we go in the inner circles of the Beltway, away from the perceptions of regular folks and the proclamations of the TV bobbleheads, there's actually a lot of familiarity and friendship between fellow politicians. Obama in his book explained how he'd actually go have beers with Republican fellow members of the Illinois Senate after a day of work, and cut some deals, do some informal negotiations, or just play some poker.

Much of the perceived animosity is showmanship.
