I have had enough of the FL Dem leaders, their big egos, their false outrage...
I thought I would be through writing about the way they screwed our state, but I am not. Not just yet. They are still acting like pouting children. A few have straightened up enough today to endorse Obama, but they are still pushing him to include Hillary on the ticket.

So I am not done yet. I thought I was, but not quite yet.

They can not let go of their self-importance long enough to let things rest and calm down.

Geller and Hastings in turn called the national party leaders "idiots" and "stupid". That is so uncalled for, and it is like children playing games on the school playground. They need an intervention.

'An extraordinary day' or 'an embarrassment'?

"This is an extraordinary day for the Democratic Party,'' DNC Chairman Howard Dean said on ABC's This Week. "We have basically come together.''

..."But all is not well in the house of the Democratic party, as was evidenced by the catcalls at yesterday's meeting in Washington and the profanity-laced tirade unleashed by U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, who said in a written statement that he would boycott the convention.

Today, Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller said he had no intention of dropping his lawsuit to try to force the national party to give each Florida delegate full voting rights at the convention.

"It was an embarassment. I agreed with the protesters there,'' Geller said. "I don't know why those idiots thought this would start a reconciliation...Do they wants us to make a half-hearted attempt to turn out half as many votes or raise half as much money as usual? There is incredible, incredible anger out there."

If you two shut up, the anger you mention might die down.

I am also very tired of Corrine Brown comparing the decision to "slavery", and sick to death of Victor Dimaio and his effing lawsuits. He even thought it was funny to talk about not liking to be a half person. Geez!

Floridian unhappy with compromise

One Bay Area Democrat is so unhappy with the National Committee's decision to give Florida Democrats only half a vote at the Summer convention, he plans to take his fight all the way to the Supreme Court. For months Democratic voter Vic Dimaio has been suing the Democratic National Committee for stripping Florida of its delegates to the national convention, and he's been losing.

This weekend, the party and the state reached a compromise - Florida delegates get half a vote each.

But that's not the end of it for Dimaio.

"No, absolutely not. I'm still very upset with the decision over the weekend. We deserve a whole vote. A full vote that's what Floridians did. I'm not half a person. I'm a whole person."

Some are actually becoming embarrassed about their political behavior, and they are starting a new talking point.

It was an act of "civil disobedience.

It was an act of civil disobedience, if you will, protesting the practice of letting a few small states, especially Iowa and New Hampshire, go early in the presidential voting every election. That gives these unrepresentative populations a wildly disproportionate influence over elections, at the expense of larger, more diverse states like Florida, with very different interests.

Alcee Hastings, co-chair of the Clinton campaign called the DNC "stupid."

U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D- Miramar, a Clinton backer who also represents parts of both counties, said he'd support whomever his party nominates. But he called the Democratic National Committee "stupid" for its delegate decision and said he wouldn't attend the convention in Denver.

Wasserman Schultz says it will be a "herculean effort" to get Democrats here to vote for Obama. That is just plain bull hockey, Debbie. You know it is.

"There's some pretty deep dissatisfaction," she said. "The party's decision just created a bigger obstacle for us to climb in order to make sure that we can motivate these voters."

Getting them to vote will require a "Herculean effort," according to Wasserman Schultz.

If you Florida Democratic leaders who have been seen on video mocking party rules and laughing an amendment you made off the Florida senate floor.....maybe if you guys hushed people would calm down and get on board.

Obama is already popular here, and certain Florida Democrats can't stand it.

As long as they act like Republicans and bash their own party, I will write about it. I am not done yet.

13. It is called outrage. Why aren't you outraged as well..
at their attempt to game the system and manipulate the party?

If you are not outraged, you are not aware of all the stuff they pulled.

I get irate about many things. This one bothers you because you don't like that I do it. Be honest. Hillary used this state for her own needs and the Fl Dems played right along.

Why are people up in arms about the DNC doing it but nobody seems to care that the RNC did the same thing?

18. The Republicans cut the FL/MI delegate votes in half, too.
Anyway, what's the point of all of this? Obama still holds a majority of the pledged delegates even with full votes. So, if nothing changes, why the heck are they making a big deal of all of this?

I am sure like all other points, this one too shall be attacked by BO when he gets around to it. And when he does all the Debbies and Alcees are going to soo fall in line. In fact I predict they will be falling all over each other to fawn over BO.

Just wait till he starts working his magic with them, especially after HRC starts publicly supporting him. These idiots and stupid people need an anchor in Washington and when HRC moves along, they will lose that anchor.

20. AND I have had enough of the "popular vote" propaganda stuff.
It is childish to keep on with this issue. Hillary lost. Florida got pampered with 1/2 vote, and Michigan popular vote does not count because Obama was not on the ballot. Four caucus states have NOT released their count.

Real Clear Politics is screwing with the numbers at their popular vote tally link. They even say so at the bottom of the list.

"*(Iowa, Nevada, Washington & Maine Have Not Released Popular Vote Totals. RealClearPolitics has estimated the popular vote totals for Senator Obama and Clinton in these four states. RCP uses the WA Caucus results from February 9 in this estimate because the Caucuses on February 9 were the “official” contest recognized by the DNC to determine delegates to the Democratic convention. The estimate from these four Caucus states where there are not official popular vote numbers increases Senator Obama’s popular vote margin by 110,224. This number would be about 50,000 less if the Washington primary results from February 19th were used instead of the Washington Caucus results.)

**(Senator Obama took his name off the Michigan Ballot. Uncommitted was on the ballot and received 238,168 votes as compared to 328,309 for Senator Clinton.)

It is time for everyone to grow up a little and stop posting things that are just not true.

They are playing number games.

23. I have an elderly aunt in Florida
She had always voted Republican until 2004, when she voted for Kerry. I attribute that change in heart to my convincing her to start watching Jon Stewart to get the news the M$M wasn't covering. Now she's hooked on TDS. OTOH, she has been openly prejudiced against blacks her entire life and so I called her the other night to see where she was at in this year's election. She told me 1) John McCain was too old and too stupid to be president, and 2) she kinda liked that Barack Obama and thought she'd vote for him -- he seemed pretty sharp. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Also, she didn't seem too concerned about what the FL dems are spouting, cause she also told me she's voting a straight democratic ticket this year for the first time in her life (and so are a lot of her friends). They're of the old Republican school that believed in fiscal responsibility and support for small business, not just corporations. These old school Republicans are mightily pissed.

So if Obama and Dean can get the FL idiots to shut up already, I'm thinking we may just have a chance there.

26. All I see is Clinton surrogates wailing away at Howard Dean
whom they've never gotten along with in the first place.

This was all about Hillary, and not about the vote. This was all about trying to humiliate Dean so that he wouldn't be in the way if Hillary won the nomination.

I do disagree with you about the outrage. Oh, they're outraged, alright. They're outraged that now they won't get to ride the Hillary gravy train all the way to the White House.

Hillary surrogates are a large part of the reason I was having trouble warming up to Hillary's candidacy. I've not seen much to change that perception.

28. I just pretend I am elsewhere. No, I really don't like many here.
I grew up here, but I really don't like this state much. They have allowed the Republicans to totally take it over by not fighting back, by going along.

In spite of the Baptist church on every corner, in spite of the religious warriors...it has become a fairly hateful state in many ways.

That's a shame. It's a shame our Democrats contributed to it.

If they did that from the beginning, there would be no anger now. Not from Florida citizens and not from their leaders (manufactured or otherwise).
