Militant Clinton supporter ready to help campaign for Obama.
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 04:19 PM by meniscus420
That's what real Democrats do. That being said, Hillary is still a Democrat. Those that have a continued interest in smearing Clinton, however, should get an earful from not just post-primary Hillary supporters for Barack, but also the level headed Dems who know she still has a role to play in politics and health care in this country. Hillary haters have gone from serving a somewhat functional purpose (for the Obama campaign) to completely useless as of last night. Anyone agree?

4. i agree
she will have to be given some consideration. a lot of the post here in gdp today are of the "burn hillary at the stake" variety.
if obama wants to be president, and i think he very much does, some kind of concessions will have to be made with the clinton campaign.

6. Glad you are on board
Unfortunately Hillary has not conceded or left the race yet and by the look of her web site she looks like she will continue to cause problems. Until she concedes I reserve the right to attack her. I also reserve the right to argue against her as a VP choice.

9. I'm pretty sure that if Barack wanted her to concede she would have at this point.
I'm sure they have a plan for bringing over the anti-Obama supporters of Hillary. That's what Dems do. That doesn't mean she has to be VP, but she DOES need to be able to transfer her support to Barack without either (A) appearing to have no choice and (B) without allowing that support to go to McCain. If she conceded last night, the "I'll vote for McCain voters" would be campaigning for him TODAY. That's just strategy. The idea that this is political leverage is somewhat understating the issue. 18 million votes is serious business. We'd like to keep them all, wouldn't we?

After all, shouldn't we be able to find a way to make the situation work to our advantage? I'm sure that's what is really going on within the party.

10. A wise man once said:
People only reply to others for two reasons:
A: They ...take them seriously... and have input to offer, be it agreement, disagreement, or
B: They don't take them seriously, in which case they just want to hear themselves speak.

18. There are less public forums for self refelction.
The breaking news is that I hear that some people can do it in their head. In any case, I'm for Barack Obama now, the point is that I disagree with any and all anti-Clinton rhetoric at this point. I think that's why she got so many CHEERS last night. Hillary was #2 by a not so wide margin, she deserves some respect :)

19. I don't think you really have access to breaking news
if you need to dictate to people where they should think or speak. Or how or about what.

Btw, some of those "cheers" last night were asking her to concede and to stop lying to her supporters -- as in, for example, the actual margin by which she lost.

People don't deserve respect. They either earn it or they are gifted with it by people who are generous enough to bestow it.

And calling people you don't even know "haters" so easily is not a team builder. It doesn't garner respect. At that level, it's not even about the primary but about civility, period.

11. Terms you might want to avoid
"Hillary Haters"
"BO" - this one may be innocent or may not be. It would be quite simple to use 'Obama' or 'Barack Obama' and avoid the misunderstanding that might come from the use of 'BO'.

While I think I agree with your sentiment, the way you have presented this is confrontational and divisive. Plus, as your candidate refuses to do the right thing and concede and call for unity and start campaigning for Obama and against McCain, a bit premature.

12. I fixed the BO
even though I use HRC too. Hillary Haters, however is self-explanatory. If her delegates and our nominee wanted her to concede, they would have lost the chance to plan together how and where the concession is, how we guarantee that none of her supporters view it as forced and go republican, etc. In my humble opinion, this is Dem tactics at work at this point. Hillary more than anyone knows Barack is the nominee, and she has not only the power but also the responsibility/obligation to do it correctly. I'm sure that's what will happen. Now however, with a nominee, continued attacks on her undermines the party, not the other way around. She no longer campaigns AGAINST Barack, why should his supporters continue to campaign against her?

15. Why does everyone keep accusing Obama supporters of "hate"?
We've expressed our frustration over her refusal to concede - that's now considered "hate speech"?
