In Support of a Unity Ticket!
I think Hillary would make a good Vice-President. The VP is much more policy oriented - wonkish job than the Presidency or Congress (see Gore and Cheney). Hillary will excel in that type of environment. She won't have to pander to special interests or triangulate on votes. She'll also be the head of the Senate and by most accounts she and Reid get along well together. I think for Congress the Pelosi-Hillary-Reid combo will be a real dream team.

As regards Bill - the other good thing about the VP position is that they don't get to live in the WH - instead they stay a another official residence - the Admiralty house, which is a bit away from the Hill. The spouse of a VP has no official role - Bill and go around doing what he does best - giving speeches, doing good, etc, etc. He will not be a distraction.

I have not supported many of Clinton's arguments made during this campaign, but she does have a solid progressive record (except when she is trying to triangulate) and has good links & genuine rappo with important groups - Teachers, Child-care & GLBT.

I believe Clinton will jump on board with Obamas Transparency and Government Openness plan. Being a part of his campaign means she won't have to rely on lobbyists or PACs. And as a Washington vetran she can help Obama meander through it's labyrinths to get his agenda through.

Peace & Love y'all.

3. ...and yet another proposal to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
There are SO many reasons that this is a horrible idea.

4. You know......
....at this point..... I will leave this up to Obama's judgement. If he thinks he needs and wants her - so be it.

6. my feeling is they will run together. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I think.
I love them both.

It would be great.
She'll go more to the left, I think, once she's in the job. She will have nothing to lose.

7. If Obama chooses her I am all for it
I am sure he will have tons of very well paid people going over all sorts of data on it, including internal polling. So if he chooses her then I support him 100%. Whoever he chooses is fine with me.

8. Obama's message is change... Hillary's is more of the same
Those cannot be reconciled by putting her on the ticket as it would destroy Obama's entire reason for running.

10. If this is his choice, I will support it. I'm not adverse to this compromise.
The lobbyist agenda will disturb me as will the IWR vote but I respect that there is a large group of fellow democrats with different views. I would make this compromise if it is the best way to beat McCain.

14. On Iraq
The IWR vote was because she was pandering and wanted to look tough. She has pretty much the same position as Obama otherwise - she spoke in favour of negotiating with Iran, without preconditions.

We need to ignore what she said 'to win' and where (I think) her heart truly lies.

There is no denying she is popular in the country. She leads McCain in the polls almost as much as Obama. (almost)

13. No way after Bill's most recent spouting off. Nobody can control his mouth.
I also heard on the CBS Early Show from Bob Schieffer that as the spouse of a VP candidate that Bill Clinton might not survive the vetting process given his various ties. He also said that if Hillary does not work tirelessly for Obama that her future in the Democratic Party would be in doubt.

15. Ofcourse if Obama decided otherwise
I wouldn't have a problem with that. It's his decision, but i'm just saying Hillary will not be so bad as VP as some imagine.

Feeling Hopeful.
