Poll question: Hillary Clinton supporters, if your candidate does not get the nomination, who will you vote for?
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 04:21 PM by SarahBelle
I'm talking November here.
If you'd care to explain why, I'd also be interested.

For the record, I voted for Kucinich in the primaries.

1. I am going to do the same thing Sen. Clinton will do. Any supporter who doesn't isn't very smart.
I will vote for Obama, no doubt.

15. Thank God! From watching TV and other posts, I was beginning to think that most Hill supporters are
insane and will vote against their own self-interest. It's good to know that there are rational hill supporters out there and that only the fringe group is what is seen mostly on the blogs and TV.

19. TV will give you a very skewed view of things.
So will the Internet.

I work with state and local political people nearly every day. I see Clinton and Obama supporters talk to each other and share meals at some political events. Committed Democrats will get past this and vote for the nominee in November, no matter who it is. Also, some of the people who are shouting now just need to vent. Let them. If they need to vent here, it is as good a place as any. When the anger and the heat dies, they will go to the polls and vote for the Democratic ticket. Good Democrats always do.

My parents did not want to vote for Adlai Stevenson in 1956. He had already been defeated by Eisenhower once, and they thought he was a poor choice. They did quite a lot of yelling about it, and they even argued about possibly voting for Eisenhower. I was just a little kid, but I remember helping them go door-to-door for Stevenson, distributing literature. They voted for Stevenson. It may have been less than enthusiastically, but they voted for him.

This is the first time in more than fifty years that they cannot be election judges. My dad had a stroke and is in the early stages of dementia. My mother will vote. She is still true-blue.

8. is there a way for the admins to see who didn't select Obama?
If someone on DU votes (or threatens to vote) for McCain or stays home because the Obama supporters hurt deir widdle feewings, they need to be banned from the site.

This is Democratic Underground, and Obama is the Democratic candidate. It's not that difficult a concept to understand.

10. The Admins can see who voted how in each and every poll
There have been bannings on DU due to the way people voted in a poll on a thread that was locked.

6. Just a suggestion: Do a search for these polls first
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 04:34 PM by Marrah_G
You will find one every couple days along with growing frustration from the people you are talking to over being asked the same thing over and over.

Many, like myself, just no longer respond to them. You also have to factor in those who will manipulate the polls to make others look bad.

Just my two cents.

(and no, I did not and will not answer any more of these polls)

14. Yeah
As much as I am in favour of Obama and of the primary ending and hoping the people will vote for the dem nominee no matter what, I simply cannot see the purpose of these threads.

The best you can gain from this is rubbing someones raw nerves so much, that they become stubborn and do what you don't want them to do.

And as Marrag_g pointed out: Its being done almost every day. It needs to stop.

13. If Hillary does not become the nominee...
then we obviously will have to hold caucuses to determine where and to whom our votes go.

Those lovely truthful caucuses.
