As An Obama Supporter, I Want To Thank The GOP! I Didn't Know His Uncle Liberated Jews
and others from the concentration camps in Germany.

A lot of nasty GOP'ers have been trying to splinter Jews from the Democratic party and also convince good Jewish people that Obama is anti-Semitic.

So this sort of actually HELPS!

Shalom.

"Three Pinocchios for "significant factual errors."

Too funny.

10. First off, it wasn't his Uncle. Second Auschwitz is probably the most infamous
concentration camp in history. So for him to say his uncle was there liberating Auschwitz is an exaggeration.

Kinda like him saying- My cousin is President.

Cheney IS a cousin, just eight times removed, and Cheney is Vice President, which is kinda like being President.

If he calls, he says "Hey Druken Irihsman, it's Uncle Ray, how are you?"

He's my grandmother's brother, if you were wondering.

49. what bullshit. And how utterly disrespectful to the memories
of those who were incarcerated there, tortured there and perished there. Yes, Auschwitz is better known. So what. And it's nothing like saying his cousin is president. Family histories almost invariably get somewhat distorted as they are passed down orally from one generation to the next.

So now you've demonstrated to us all that you know little about the Holocaust, that you don't think twice about exploiting the victims of a Nazi concentration camp to bash Obama, and that you can't make an accurate comparison.

30. Justice? His great uncle helped liberate Buchenwald. And Obama was talking about PTSD
I watched a documentary on the liberation of the camps through the eyes of the American troops, and also Russian troops. I have never seen so many men cry and get so emotional. It was worse than combat for these men. Some were never the same after what they saw.

29. I strongly disagree with the WP on this one. This did not amount to "lying"
because the truth was equal to his mistaken remembrance of it being Auschwitz. I am someone who has read a ton of books on WWII, who has visited a concentration camp, and watched countless documentaries on the era. You could say I am a total WWII buff. But I also had to re-remember which army took which KZ camp. And Obama was talking about a family member. I think he knows his WWII history very well, especially what the meaning of "appeasement" is, unlike our Dear Leader in the WH who gave the misleading historical reference in PREPARED REMARKS.

I'm 3rd generation of a Holocaust survivor. My grandfather survived Auschwitz, grandmother survived Bergen-Belsen. Dad was born in DP in Hamburg, moved to the US when he was 2 (1950) - but he is a full-blooded American citizen (could run for President if he wanted to, but not today)

I have seen my grandfather's tattoos - Holocaust is not a lie. (He passed away in 2001, before 9/11 at a ripe age of approximately 94)
