When Bill Schneider, Sr. CNN Political Advisor is
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 07:54 PM by madmax
introduced on any of the CNN 'news' shows they should offer up a disclaimer that he's a shill for the Right Wing....

Media Matters is one of the best websites (after DU, of course). Whoever, is working and volunteering to monitor these various 'news' shows are real American Patriots.

CNN's Bill Schneider re-cast Manchurian Candidate with NewsMax.com directing

On the August 5 edition of CNN's Judy Woodruff's Inside Politics, CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider repeated commentary from "one conservative website" but never said the website's name: NewsMax.com. In his report on the parallels between the recently released remake of The Manchurian Candidate and present-day politics, Schneider perpetuated -- without offering refutation -- the suggestion that Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) was the inspiration for the "villain" character, played by Meryl Streep. Yet Streep told The New York Times that she based the character of Eleanor Shaw on former Bush adviser Karen Hughes, Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC), conservative pundit Ann Coulter, Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

During his report, Schneider, who is also a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, relayed commentary from NewsMax.com's "The Left Coast Report" by James Hirsen; Schneider also suggested Senator Clinton is a "diabolical, cold, manipulative member of the U.S. Senate."

Added on edit:
Displayed for viewers onscreen was a portion of "The Left Coast Report" including its title, "The Manchurian Senator," which had originally appeared on NewsMax.com more than six weeks earlier (June 22). Viewers were shown this sentence:

The New York Daily News reports that, much to the chagrin of Hollywood execs, Streep's character is frighteningly similar to a certain former first lady.

I saw and heard him the day he made this report, I wanted to slap Elmer Fudd into next week. Hillary, Hillary, Hillary - get off her back already!

4. It's outrageous that CNN's "senior political analyst" is an AEI fellow...
and presumably on the payroll of that right-wing thinktank, as well as on the CNN payroll. It's also outrageous that CNN does not make this clear to their viewers, except in Schneider's online bio.

7. Ugh
I think I may have gagged a little bit when I read "Schneider, who is also a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute".

CNN's political analyst belongs to a right-wing thinktank and parrots NewsMax stories in his commentary, yet people (idiots) still think CNN is liberal. It's not like he's CNN's sports reporter or some lowly copy boy, he's their fucking political analyst. Argh.
