I don't have a problem with Hillary staying in this race through June 3rd.
She has earned the right to stay in through the last 3 contests, and those people have waited patiently to vote. I happen to think Obama has a fighting chance in SD and MT in the fall, so why not have him build an organization in those states and campaign. There is no damage done by having Hillary still in this race, as long as she and her surrogates (who are too numerous top mention) cease all criticisms of the inevitable Democratic nominee, Barack Obama. They should direct all of their fire to McCain and Bush, and otherwise only speak about their positive agenda.

But on June 4th when I get up in the morning and turn on the TV I expect to see a headline along the lines of "Clinton to Drop Out". At that point it is over. The voting is done and the delegates have been awarded. We cannot expect to elect any Democratic president if this primary fight drags on all summer with no elections, but rather, 2 1/2 months of back and forth, snipping and sniping, new surrogate wars, lawsuits and more chest thumping. We just can't have that, to say nothing of a 1972 style convention that gets bogged down in floor fights over procedures and credentials.

1. i agree she has the right to stay
Edited on Thu May-22-08 12:39 PM by iamthebandfanman
but that doesnt make it the right thing to do.

i dont think anybody could argue she doesnt have the right to do whatever she wants. it shows a serious lack of judgement on her part though. if she cant even decide shes lost a primary, what about real issues?

if she would just tone down the attacks against Obama and let people just vote, thats fine... but attacking our nominee for president doesnt do anybody any good.

2. The question is?

NOTICE THE DATE!

But, I agree with you, I just hope for a gracious exit
and that means for her to stop saying shit that
divides the party and attacks the nominee.

FAT CHANCE ON THAT.

3. I like this, but how do the rest of us make it known to her, meanwhile, that lies and negativity will
not go un-punished? Letting her continue to run is a reward; no consequences, no behavioral adaptation.

6. So? What can possibly be more American than being IN DEBT?
It is as American as apple pie!

By the way, rights don't have to be earned. We just get them being American citizens.
