The important thing to remember about Peak Oil is that economy isn't just addicted to oil... it's addicted to CHEAP oil. Without a cheap source of energy everything in our economy falls apart.

Despite what the optimists think, there is no viable alternative to petroleum. I'm not saying we are doomed to go back to oxen-power, but our entire lifestyle is unsustainable.
