1. Amazing! 51% say "NO"!!
What are they afraid of? This is what I hate the most about the Rs in this country: their fear of the known and unknown, their complete distrust of the American people and their belief that America is a weak nation that can't even uphold its own principles.

I remember an America where we would have welcomed such observers to show the world how a democracy works...to show the world what an empowered people can do for themselves. But we now live in an America where outside observers are as feared as they are mandatory.

We're officially a banana republic.

2. What it means when 1/2 of Americans want foreign observers
to monitor elections...

Intractible differences-- this is a core question of wether the people trust the government. ~50% of Americans want someone other than an American to certify their own election!

I have been predicting this. What happens when Bush ChoicePoint and Diebold's the election? OrgStab will decertify the elections, and the insurrection is on.

Riots, domestic terrorism, martial law.

The end of the Union.
Civil war.
The reformation of the Republics of Texas and California will occur. There will be some regional element-- The republic of Dixie American Republic (Capital--Indianapolis)vs Democratic America (Chicago). The war will not be exclusively geographic, however. It will be an intermural war. It will be cities vs exurbia all over.

In 2008 there will be no American elections, there will be no America, per se. Saudi Arabian paid mercs will be defending St. Petersburg Fla and Houston.
EU volunteers will be patrolling in NY, LA, and SF.
