I can't wait to see what leisure-time activities Bush has been up to during the war.

5. I wondered why she wasn't on the 6:00 show.
Thought she might have taken the night off and thought Keith would too. Rachel deserves her own show. Maybe she'll replace "The Race to the White House" in November. I can wait.

6. How wonderful.
I adore her. :loveya: Her observations are so astute and most, if not all of her predictions while sitting at the Gregory table of the damned come true.

8. Wolffe says that the Obama campaign needs to do a better job of fielding surrogates
to "correct the record" and defend against these silly sort of Rethug attacks.

He says Obama cannot waste his time correcting all of the Rethug lies or else he will not be getting out his own message.

I agree.

9. Alter: "A lot of right-wing people don't know what the term appeasement means."
Called Bush's attack "distasteful" and "a direct violation of 60 years of American policy."

"At this point the White House can't get its story straight."

10. The Huckster's apology:
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/16/huckabee-targets-obama-with-gun-joke/

During my speech at the N.R.A., a loud noise backstage, that sounded like a chair falling, distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an off hand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama.
I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention.”

12. No, he just showed his true colors with that remark.
The fact that it slipped out says a lot about the "charming" "Christian" huckster. I'm sure he didn't INTEND for that to happen, but it did.

17. He could only hide his ugly, inner self for so long before it oozed out.
But I expected him to issue an "apology" regardless.

28. This is the same guy....
who in the South Carolina Primary said it was okay to fly the Confederate flag over the capitol. That's all it took for me!

By the way... Not only does Rachel Maddow beat down Morning Joe... She can take Chuck Norris too.

Perhaps we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now if he had questioned the use of language more vociferously when it counted.

30. KO and Countdown have CHANGED cable news and Tweety is getting on board. I was impressed
telling it like it is. People are waking up and thankfully because KO has showed them the way. You don't have to be fox-lite in order to get ratings.

32. Yes, I do.
I'm fairly backward politically, I don't watch TV (ever), I've mostly stayed away from politics on the net until recently I've been frequenting a few sites e.g. Asian Times Online, Salon, DU, C & L, and the like. Most recently I've taken to interjecting a bit at DU - an interesting process to say the least.

I first saw Rachel Maddow on a youtube clip where she vivisected Tucker Carlson in just a few minutes, on air right before my eyes, then sewed him back together and, her performance was that good, it seemed that she nodded right at me, "See? Good as new!" -- and Tucker didn't have a clue what happened. Following that, on Rachel's show I was introduced to Naomi Klein (amongst many, but to just name the brightest star) and her thesis on political/economic theory, 'Shock Doctrine'. I could go on, but what I see here is a cross-spectrum political flowering, in front of my eyes, based on a true *ownership* of logic, of reason combined with political idealism (e.g. a belief that concepts of Human Rights are first principles).

I like how Obama fits into this reality. The more I see, the more I like this new (I'm older) generation of leadership. It makes me comfortable.
