McAuliffe says "We WON the Election in 2000, They STOLE the ELECTION!"
So I'm up late, its 2:30am, and CSPAN is on.

OH Man, Mcauliffe is ripping Bush a brand new asshole!

Talking about Kerry's military record with FIRE! Kerry saving a man's life, earning the right to do whatever the hell he wants with his medals, because Kerry has the medals, andBush has NOTHING.

Mentioning BushCo dissing Max Cleland.

Talking about the THEFT of the 2000 election, thats right, THEFT!

On the SCOTUS -

"This time we'll win with enough votes so the Supreme Court CAN NOT take it away"

That we need to protect Roe V Wade from A Bush appointee.

Hot God Allmighty!

I hope we carry this fire every moment of this election. I feel a confidence I haven't yet felt. I'm excited again!

1. It would be funny if the last couple...
...days some of the speculation were proven smoke and mirrors. Can you imagine what might happen? The opposition might have their heads explode. I'd LOVE for one of the speakers to talk about the role media is SUPPOSED to have in a democracy. THAT would be a decleration of war ;)

2. All he is good at is raising money
He's terrible on TV and does a terrible job at shaping the party message. I just wish they would put him in charge of raising money and leave the executive duties to someonew else.

4. He's not pretty...

Can't put my finger on it, but projects an odd presence.

However, with this presentation, he's doing a pretty good job I think.

5. He's on crack
or something.

His head weaves and his eyes roll, but man I LOVE what he is saying and the conviction with which he is saying it.

He got me pumped up. :)

7. There is no conviction in that man at all
if it were, he would have been saying that for 4 years.

Terry is campaigning for another term as DNC Chair, or perhaps the sob wants to be Treasury or Commerce Secretary.

8. Me too...

I think a lot of the tension on DU lately has been a result of people desperately wanting to feel right about their party and their candidate. It has less to do with the issues than the need we all have to be inspired.

If nothing else McAuliffe is setting a tone here that I think will be carried into the convention and worked into a fever pitch.

10. Too bad he didn't find that "tone" 4 years ago
Personally I think he is grandstanding, bucking for a job in the Kerry Administration.

If I were a Kerry advisor, I would recommend that Kerry appoints McCauliffe as John Negroponte's replacement.

3. Good...

I'm watching it as well.

He's now talking about BBV, illegal disenfranchisement, voter intimidation, and the steps the DNC are taking to counter it.

Interesting that this is from Saturday and today (Sunday) a number of DUers were calling for McAuliffe's head.

9. Welcome to the Circular Firing Squad!
The last time I checked, Terry McAuliffe was being spoken about around here in ways usually reserved for Bush himself.

There isn't a Democrat alive who, upon running for or taking office, hasn't borne the brunt of the fury of one perfectionistic splinter of the left or another.

This year, Ralph Nader is the head cudgel-taker-upper; but if we didn't have Ralph, there would be a thousand others in line for the job.

Will Rogers got it right: "I'm not a member of any organized political party -- I'm a Democrat!"
