"The Welcome Wagon" for the GE is now open for unity and aiming at the Repugs
Edited on Tue May-06-08 09:37 PM by zulchzulu
Actually, it's not my idea. I ran into someone who is a big Obama supporter who lives in a small town near Madison, WI and she has started something called "The Welcome Wagon".

She and a few of her friends had decided they were tired of a couple things. She likes Obama. A couple of her friends like Clinton. They all go way back...they went to Dead shows on the road, witnessed each other watch their kids grow up, went to peace rallies, welcomed their sons and daughters home from war on small town runways, done all kinds of things together and basically have decided that life is too short. She has also convinced them that Barack Obama is going to be the nominee...and most agree... or at least are open to the possibility.

Hence comes "The Welcome Wagon". It can be a powerful grassroots (or netroots) way to get the eye on the prize, namely the White House and all the other races, and tell the circular firing squad to reform and aim at the SS McSame Ship of Fools.

I, as of this day forward, will not attack anyone else except the Republicans. Please advise me and remind me if I slip up.

The Welcome Wagon is open for everyone. Let's all get on board!

2. Can you start a thread simply entitled "the welcome wagon"?
Something about "The Welcome Wagon is a space for us to unit and become re-acquainted. Enjoy. Keep it Civil. Enter with and open mind."

:kick: Its time we all came together. Hillary has a great opportunity in the Senate. I have supported Hillary from the beginning but it is time to get behind Barack and get him into the Oval Office in January 2009

6. Hillary's speech seems to be calling for unity...it's going to be hard for her...but...
...she can do it.

I hope she finally realizes we need to aim our awesome talents and drive toward taking aim at the McCain machine....

7. The end seemed to be a much more appropriate tone. She seems conciliatory after an
unbelievable beginning.

So long as her ground campaign in these next primaries stick around to support the nominee in the GE this final stretch could be beneficial.

8. The room got pretty quiet there for a minute or so
Looking at the crowd leaving the event, I just hope they know what they just saw.

9. thanks, but no thanks..
I'll save my time and money for the Hillary train in 2012. The Obama train may look like it's left the station, but it's got zero chance of ever reaching its final destination. I do appreciate your efforts though. Good luck with this, and I mean that sincerely.

10. Not a problem. Good luck in your continuing efforts to back someone who could have won...
Hillary can try to run against Barack in 2012. She'll get her hat handed to her. She'll be too old in 2016, which is when the next Democrat can run.

We're taking this to the White House...and you are invited. Still.

:hi:
