Had a phone conv. with the (Repub) Ex-Husband today and was
quite surprised when we discussed politics. "I'm really liking this Obama guy." I said "really??" He knows how Dem I am and how very, very much I dislike Bush, so I was shocked. I figured he'd be a McCain guy so decided to tread carefully. He's had health issues and I didn't want to get into it with him. Great friendship, lousy marriage...but I digress.

I asked why he liked Obama and he said (I'm paraphrasing here), the guy gives a great speech and actually says something. McCain's an old fart like me and can't remember sh(%, and the TV goes off if I have to look at her.

To say the least I was pleasantly surprised. I told him to spread the word, and for the first time evah, I told him he was right! He really liked that...LOL. It has never been stated before by me to him, as far as I can remember......

2. I used to be surprised...
no longer. Obama has widespread appeal.

I think it's because he's not constantly lying or pandering. He treats the voters he is speaking to like adults. Not something we're used to...

5. Ass? That's it? That's all you've got to say?
WTF is that supposed to mean?

I think some people around here are really losing their minds.

10. Too bad - you called an Obama supporter an ass
Or maybe this was a self-descriptive phrase? Either way, you certainly showed yours.

3. I had to give blood early today and was in the waiting room full of people..it was a mixed crowd.
black, white and hispanic--the tv was on Good Morning America and when they showed Rev. Wright people just groaned...and when they showed Hillary talking about debating Obama on the back of a flat bed truck, people groaned. Mini conversations broke out and you could here people saying they are tired of the BS..there are serious issues to address.

Interesting exchange in the lab this a.m.
