Clinton-Obama Dream ticket or Nightmare ticket?
Some might say that every dem should be for this, but for me, Hillary has been almost backed by Fox way too much for my taste. I bring you all a cartoon of how Clinton and Obama would live together.

http://www.236.com/news/2008/04/24/a_clintonobama_dream_ticket_or_1_6060.php

I think most Obama people would agree that we don't want Hillary anywhere near the office of presidency. Are there any Obamatons out there that want hillary to hop on as vice president or is this dream ticket idea just being pushed by Clintonians?

3. The only way I'd vote for such a ticket is if Obama was on top, because he is in first place.

4. Nightmare
Obama would be a fool to agree to be VP to HRC. He would be VP in name only as Bill would push him to the background. It would also seal his political career in a coffin.

He would be much better off to remain in the Senate and continue to burn brightly.

37. I will vote for the Democratic candidate, whoever it is. . .
(and don't you EVER try to put words in my mouth like that)

AFAIC, neither Clinton nor Obama is under ANY obligation to choose the other as the running mate. If they do, it's THEIR choice. Somehow, though, I don't think that will happen, at least not with Obama. But you never know.

13. I'm not sure. It should apease the many Dems who had or are having
trouble deciding between the two. I can sure sympathize...I didn't make my mind up until I was standing in front of the machine. HOWEVER, I still believe there are some people who would NEVER vote for a woman OR a black, and a ticket like that would alienate BOTH! I have no idea how many people fall into that group. I suspect most are older and simply unwilling to accept the changes that have happened over the years, much less how much change they feel either of our candidates would bring.

The Clintons and their DLC counterparts all have a history of squelching progressive causes within their own party. Obama would have them both dogging him at every turn, every decision where they smell political blood to be drawn they will strike.

What's worse is that Clinton and by proxy, the DLC, would control the Senate to a greater degree than they already do. It is bad enough that nothing can get done in the Senate because we have 20+ DLC Senators that join the Republicans in turns on just about every serious issue we have faced over the last 7 years, but handing the deciding vote to the DLC would be a disaster. I would envision the Senate refusing to follow the agenda of a President Obama because of the DLC's influence. We would get political gridlock as a reward for our efforts. It would look different from the last 2 years, but the result would be the same....and the blame will go to Barack Obama.

So no, Hillary should not be the VP on the ticket. Her campaign has been run in a similar fashion to their ruthless politics and their coziness with the Republican party's media machine horrifies me, and I see absolutely no indication that they will mend their ways by being rewarded for it.

27. I Don't Know About A "Dream Ticket,"
I just have a feeling that too much water has passed under the bridge, so to speak. I don't think Hillary & Barack hate each other, but actually, if they did, I don't think it'd matter that much. I'm thinking of JFK & Johnson when I say that, so I guess anything is possible. There has to be more to a running mate that if they "like" each other or not. For me, it would be who would be the most electable as a team? In my opinion, and that's all it is, I think whoever gets the nom should choose someone with a strong foreign policy/diplomatic and military background. For me, that person is Wesley Clark. I am sure there are other candidates with very good backgrounds, but for me, Wesley Clark fits the bill. If the war is the main issue this fall, and I think it will be, mccan't and the rest of his ilk will play his military background to the hilt. They might call it "foreign policy experience," or "diplomatic experience" (ha-ha), or some other name, but they will point out the Dems "lack" of experience ion this area, and it will hurt us, badly. Besides Wesley Clark being a great choice (to me anyway), I further submit that he campaigned hard for Dems on 2006, and has been actively working to stop war with Iran. I know some here will bring up Hillary's recent comments on Iran, but I really do not think she wants war with iran, especially with Wesley Clark as a Hillary supporter.

Just my 2 cents here. I'm not trying to "start anything," just sort of saying my piece.

Respectfully,

Dinger
