Poll question: Will you be voting a straight party Democratic ticket in the General Election?

I wonder how many people usually vote straight party Democrat all the way in the general election normally ( do), but this poll is just for this upcoming general election.

After the 20 Reagan/Bush/Bush years of fubar, failure and fuckup, of massive deficit spending, of endless saber rattling and senseless wars I would be hard pressed to ever vote for any Republican with the possible exception of two local officials from the darkside that are doing a good job. But even with those two, both whom I know personally, I feel dirty and unclean when I vote for them.

I vote my conscience, and I vote for the individual. I also vote my conscience concerning any propositions on the ballot. No party owns my vote.

But my down-ticket votes will surely be for the Democratic

BTW, here in New Hampshire, the Democrats who now run the
joint have kept one of their campaign pledges and *ENDED*
"straight ticket" voting; it's no longer possible to fill
in one bubble and vote for a party's entire slate; you
have to vote each race individually.

In years past, when Republicans dominated the Granite
State, this change would have worked to the Dem's
advantage but perhaps not this year (seeing as how
*WE* are the party that is incumbent in most offices).

I usually vote for all the Democrats, but sometimes refuse to vote for some half-assed "liberal" who panders to the right.

2008 looks to be one of those times.

16. Straight Dem ticket voter for nearly 40 years.

Registered for the first time in 1969 ~~ voting age was then 21 years ~~ and have never missed an election and have never voted for a Pubbie all those years. Did pass voting for one Dem for Congress because he was was an asshole, but that is the only deviation I have ever made from voting a straight Dem ticket.

This year, if Hillary ~~ gawd forbid ~~ is our nominee, I will skip voting for the top of the ticket or write in Obama. Along with one skipped vote in nearly 40 years would be my only defection from the Dem Party.

I've always voted for who I thought was the best candidate, regardless of party. And about 70% of the time that was the Democrats anyway. The other cases were usually Independents, Greens, or occasionally a Republican for local offices. But this time I'm fucking fed up. The Republican party as a whole needs to be taught a lesson about Bush and about the war.

And my only qualms will be at the top of the ticket, either way it goes. But I'm a Democrat, and it takes more than a few qualms to move my vote. My Primary choices are never the nominee, I don't expect that any way. Downticket I will be voting gleefully Democratic, and fully working for and hoping for victory, just as in the national race.
No Republican will ever get my vote. The affiliation itself is fully discrediting to anything else a person may offer, especially at this point in GOP history.

I may not vote for Jim Moran for Congress...he has said a bunch of things that have irked me, like when he came to our Young Dems meeting recently and started trashing the Auto Workers. But his seat is not usually competitive...if it were I would suck it up and vote for him. Definitely voting Dem for president though, although I was so mad when I saw the ad Clinton was running in PA that it made me question my pledge for a few minutes.
