It's a real dilemna...
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 07:19 PM by Bonobo
What do you do if you're a good progressive that chose Hillary early on and REALLY, REALLY BELIEVED in her?

It's so hard to admit now, even in the face of all the disgusting things she has done of late...

Besides, maybe you feel trapped, cornered by the fact that your REP is on the line at DU. How can you say you were wrong?

Still, it's getting hard to deny now, isn't it? The weight of the evidence is becoming too much too bear...

She doesn't act ANYTHING like you expected or wanted or previously demanded of a Dem in a battle VS another Dem.

So what do you do? Ok, it'll be tough, but your fellow DU'ers will cut you some slack. Be honest and tell them that she has dissappointed you as well. You can do it! Be brave! Remember those ideals! Remember what seperates us from the other side! You can do it!

...or not. It's up to you. But the thing is, you can't run away from the truth forever.

Anyway, we'll be here waiting for you when you come back. In fact, we'll leave a light on in front. You should be able to see it even from as far away as you have traveled.

Come on back, Democrats and Progressives! You may have chose unwisely, but we won't hold it against you. We'll love you more for admitting it.

But if this last Bitter-gate ad didn't do it for you, well... maybe you should just keep walking.

On edit: I first thought it was "dilemna", posted it. Then looked it up and saw only "dilemma". But I stubbornly remember being taught as "dilemna". I'm sticking with it.

2. Don't need a light. I'll just follow the sounds of frenzy when a criticism is hinted.

4. Sure. The shrieks get louder the more he is criticized. I'll find you easy, even without a light.
Provided he wins, of course.

I completely despise Obama, and like Clinton more and more each day. So much for your little Obama commercial. :eyes:

8. Thanks. I was pretty sure I was right and this thread is confirming it so far.
You haven't chosen the wrong direction. You have chosen the "right" direction.

17. Ooops, let me also couch my response in cowardly passive-aggressive DU fashion:
It's a shame that people lose their heads and retreat into paranoid schizophrenia in the midsts of a political primary, but I suppose some people are just prone to those types of emotional swings.

It's just too bad, that's all.

14. Thank you for your concern- We are just fine
Your condescension and insults only make it all to clear to me that I want nothing to do with your side.

Your post is just more of the same nasty flamebait.

15. Hillary supporters tend not to believe it when people say this,
but I honestly was on the fence -- smack dab in the middle -- until the day of the California primary.

My best friend was asking for advice on how he should cast his vote. I said well, my concerns about Clinton are....... and my concerns about Obama are....... and I JUST DON'T KNOW! I was relieved that I wasn't the one having to cast a vote. I was truly equally for/unsure of them both.

Then, as many have said, more doubts about Hillary kept creeping in when I'd see some questionable campaign tactics, when I'd hear about Bill doing some kind of spent uranium "facilitation", etc. By the time it got to the "as far as I know" bit, I was pretty much in Obama's camp.

My rambling is supporting your point that I, anyway, really didn't expect to see the type of behavior from her campaign that we have, and I AM disappointed. So I understand that there may be others out there like me. That's all.

If you ARE a committed-til-the-end HRC supporter, I commend you for that.

19. You're not the only one!
The Bidenites are pretty much (I think) half Obama, half Clinton. That's kind of interesting, isn't it. You'd think we'd all lean the same way.

My heart still belongs to Biden (which is why I can identify with those of you who are so committed to Hillary -- if he was still in the running, I'd be with him as long as it took), but I'm growing to REALLY like Obama more and more every day.

Good luck to your candidate, and good luck to mine! :hi:

24. the big problem with DU is that people are afraid to admit they are wrong
There is nothing bad about it and more flamewars are escalated because nobody can admit they are wrong and go to absurd extremes to prove their point.

Just say you are wrong when you are wrong. Simple. No shame in that.
