OMG, New Poll Has Bush Trouncing Kerry!!!
Chris Matthews just reported on Hardball that a new Quinnipiac poll shows that more Americans would rather barbecue George Bush than John Kerry. I just did a quick online search and the numbers are Bush 50%, Kerry 39%. The rest must have been vegetarians.

Kerry is losing the cannibal vote in this country. Those damn Bush ads are really working. (You know, the one that goes, "Throw another chimp on the barbie.")

Bush Slimed U.S.

1. "liberal bias"
Edited on Thu May-27-04 07:10 PM by progdonkey
I hope this firmly destroys any possible credibility in the whole "liberal media" BS. These polls show two things. First, that the media is trying to come up with ANYTHING good to say about Bush. Second, Bush is so f*cked that the only polls where he trumps Kerry is in the barbecue/next-seat-on-the-plane categories. So, of course, the "liberal media" trots out the only polls that help Bush and pretend like the poll actually has some relevance to the Presidency.

3. The actual numbers are here
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x11342.xml

President George W. Bush gets a negative 45 – 50 percent approval rating from American voters – his lowest score ever – and Democratic challenger John Kerry is now one point behind the Republican incumbent in a 43 – 42 percent split, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Independent candidate Ralph Nader gets 6 percent.

This compares to a 43 – 40 percent Bush lead, with 6 percent for Nader, in a May 5 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University, when Bush’s approval was a split 46 – 47 percent.

In other measures of voter attitudes about Bush and Kerry:

Voters say 45 – 43 percent that they would rather have Kerry teach their children;
By a 50 – 39 percent margin, voters would rather have a backyard barbecue with Bush;
Voters say 46 – 41 percent they would rather have Bush run their business. .......

probably screw up my BBQ like he screws up everything else. He'd probably pour lighter fluid on the hot coals and burn down the neighborhood.

Besides, he doesn't drink. Everyone gets pleasantly sloshed at my BBQs. ;-)

But the POST-GRILL PLAN: utterly non-existent and chaotic.

Bush said he'd love a barbecue.

"We're gonna have ribs, freedomfurters, and koran on the cob. I hope everyone comes, even the brown people."

Reporters gasped.

Scalia and Cheney then arrived. A pheasant time was guaranteed for all.

32. I still don't buy that he doesn't drink...
I've seen pics of him drinking since his alleged date of awakening that got him to stop. The wedding video over at Smoking Gun is one. I believe there was a pic last year of him drinking when he visited with Chinese leaders.

Don't worry he'd get sloshed, but would use his WH power to erase that your party ever happened.

20. That's a personality thing, I think.
I can see where those people were coming from. Kerry's not exactly the most fun guy some people can think of to pal around with. Bush would be more entertaining and lively at a barbeque, they think. Doesn't mean they want him to be President, though.

I mean, Billy Bob Thornton might be fun at a barbeque, but I don't know that I'd want him having the educational program funds in his hands.

I think Matthews must have been referring to a portion of the poll, which indicated who they would prefer to have a backyard barbeque with, and in that area of the poll 50 percent of the people asked would rather have a backyard barbeque with Bush, 39 percent with Kerry...

As to who they would prefer for the presidency n this poll,Kerry is catching up to Bush, with Bush at 43 percent, Kerry at 42%

29. How stinking pathetic
I agree with the first response--looking at it should destroy any thoughts of a liberal bias in the media. It's like Eric Alterman's book "What Liberal Media?".

That is an absolutely pathetic poll. Who gives a flying fuck who Americans would rather barbecue more? Aside from the humor value, polls like that waste time, money, and effort. It just proves the RW's desperation to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING good to say about Bushler.

33. The C-SPAN caller
three days ago said it best.

If you were in a foxhole who would you rather have next to you?

That question is essential because of how many Americans are so skiddish on the National Security issue. 9/11 apparently has made people lose their minds on what real security is and it seems many think Bush is keeping us safe despite his refusal to protect ports and nuclear facilities, and despite the fact that he gets us into ridiculous wars that make an entire region and culture of people want to hurt us more.

So then one must ask themselves. Do you trust good ol' Alabama National Guardsman Bush or Vietnam Hero Kerry in a foxhole to protect you and save your life?

Screw the barbeque. Let's ask Americans questions that actually relate to this election and to the Presidency.

I mean sure we could ask who would you rather have build you a house out of with Legos, or who you'd trust more to draw a cool picture with Etch a Sketch, and Bush would likely win those. But how do they relate to the Presidency?

Presidential Tracking Poll: Bush-Kerry

Election 2004 Presidential Ballot
Bush 46%
Kerry 44%
Other 5%
Not Sure 6%
RasmussenReports.com

Rasmussen Reports Home

Tuesday June 01, 2004--The latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows President George W. Bush with 46% of the vote and Senator John F. Kerry earning 44%.

Among Investors, it's Bush 47%, Kerry 44%. Forty-five percent (45%) of those who do not invest prefer Kerry while 44% say they will vote for Bush.

The President has had a 1-to-3 point "lead" in the tracking poll over the past three days. This is the first time Bush has been ahead for three straight days since April 27. However, it still remains to be seen whether this reflects a trend or mere statistical noise
(snip)

That looks good to me, considering the elements that seem to be at work.
